Prompt Six:How do they find it, and what's the experience like?
Taking a deep breath, Allison dove in.
Although music was her forte, Allison did have a talent for diving without equipment. She had a wicked set of lungs, and she was fairly resilient to the heavy pressure of water the deeper she went, for some reason. A quick scouting without equipment wouldn't take long, and she'd have a way easier time getting the tool back once she knew where it was. Diving equipment is heavy stuff, and she'd rather not have to lug it all around unless she had to.
Although it took a few tries to find the tool, Allison didn't mind the diving attempts. It was honestly quite relaxing, watching the exotic fish swim about without a care in the world, and finding little shells and pretty sea plants. After a few dives though, she spotted something of interest at last.
A small congregation of fish seemed to be very interested in something glimmering at the bottom. Allison dove deeper and sure enough, there it was. She didn't get too close since she had to go back up for air soon, but she took note of where it was. Before she could start to head up however, she noticed an octopus quickly shuffling closer to the tool. To her bafflement, it picked up the tool and scuttled away! This wasn't good, if she lost track of that octopus then she wouldn't be getting the tool back. She quickly swam and caught up to the thieving critter, and a tug of war ensued. However, before she could get the tool back, she felt her vision start to fade. She'd been down for too long, and she HAD to get up, fast. Her strength left her however, keeping her from reaching the surface.
Before everything could reach black however, she felt a tug, bringing her up to the surface gently. Coughing and sputtering, she took several deep breaths of blessed air. She felt herself being hoisted back up on the boat she sailed out on, together with Aukai who was helping her look. Said kalon quickly grabbed her and shook her about, yelling at her about her stupidity for diving without gear for too long. After a few minutes of shaking and yelling, the situation calmed down, and Allison finally got a moment to thank Aukai for rescuing her.
"Oh it aint' me who saved ya', buddy. That there octopus tugged you up the last bit to the surface, wouldn't-a noticed you struggling if it wasn't for that" Aukai responded, pointing to the critter, sitting on the rim of the boat. It looked guilty, as much as an octopus can, and it was holding the tool they'd been looking for. After staring for a little while, Allison gently took the tool, and patted the octopus on the head.
"All is forgiven, you little scamp. Thanks for the help" she smiled. The octopus seemed happy with this, and slithered off the boat again, into the water.
Well, she had the tool now at last... though it sure was going to make for an interesting story how they got it back.
