Why are they tired? ;; Mike suffers from insomnia. Well, 'suffers' is relative. He doesn't mind not being able to sleep all the time, because when he's trying to fall asleep is when he thinks of the best ideas. His mind is like a rebellious machine- when you want it to turn off, it goes full steam ahead. Mike will spend hours at night waiting for sleep to knock on his door, thinking of stories for his characters. He's developed many different worlds inside his mind, but there are three that are the most common he works on. He hopes to one day write them out, but the stories aren't perfect yet, so he feels that he can't do it justice.
What do they daydream about? ;; He tends to have the same issue during the day- he's supposed to be paying attention to a lecture, and his mind is churning out character development and traditions. It's actually quite interesting, because he goes into a half-asleep phase where you can ask him something and he will answer without thinking. Often, his friends will use this to get answers out of him, because he can't lie while in this stage. However, 90% of the time, Mike's response will be whatever world-building is going on in his head. You could ask him something like.. "Mike, what's your girlfriend's name?" and he'd either respond with her name or the response would be along the lines of 'The oxygen levels in the atmosphere are a bit low in certain spots due to added chemicals which cause it to become heavier. These areas are a bit more difficult to breath in, and can result in harm to the respiratory system if prolonged exposure occurs."

Why are they tired? ;; This little Kalon stays up all night, watching the river flow and the clouds pass. Since he was a child, he has wondered how the universe works, and has went to extreme measures to find out the meaning of life, even if it means getting no sleep.
What do they (day)dream about? ;; He daydreams of someday finding out the meaning of life and how the universe works.

Why are they tired? ;; Abraham is a nurse at the local emergency clinic, more specifically working the graveyard shifts in the trauma ward. He has spent many a night staring blankly at white walls and blood-stained floors with nothing but black coffee and the sounds of a hospital swirling around him. As anyone with his profession, it has taken a toll on Abraham, giving him the tell-tale haggard appearance of a two-year ER veteran. However he remains steadfast in his desire to help and heal those in a crisis. The lack of sleep doesn't phase him as much as it used to considering his circadian rhythm has synced to the work schedule. You can usually catch him snoozing away into the late hours of the morning after his shift.

What do they (day)dream about? ;; Abraham has a disorder called "Maladaptive Daydreaming." It can best be explained as follows:


"Oftentimes while maladaptive daydreamers are daydreaming, they will whisper, talk, make facial expressions, or do some sort of repetitive movement, such as pacing. [2]
Maladaptive daydreamers can spend hours simply daydreaming. They may have elaborate fantasies within their minds, often comparable to a complete novel or movie. Many have more than one fantasy in their mind, each with its own characters, setting, plots, etc. Maladaptive daydreamers may become emotionally attached to their characters as well, though they know the characters are not real."

What does this look like for Abraham? Well, when he's not catching up on sleep or working, you can often find him wandering through Central Park, lost in thought and music. He's careful not to mutter under his breath, but often he makes facial expressions based on the scenario playing through his mind. It's never become a hindrance per se, but it's not the first thing he mentions in conversation.

Why are they tired? ;;
At nighttime Percy can usually be found talking to friends. Being a social butterfly, making friends is second nature for him. The challenge is keeping them. He spends almost every night texting and calling and video chatting with several friends. Strangely his mind considers spending time with a friend more worthwhile than studying for an important exam the next morning. It's not that he's lazy with academics, but Percy would sacrifice a questionable number of things for his social life. His conversations might be about lighthearted memes or deep late-night philosophies. Occasionally there'll be more serious topics like depression when Percy is more than willing to stay up to sunrise to comfort a friend. He also happens to have many long-distance ships. He finds his stubbornness to forget annoying, but he's also proud of it. Just confused to why he can remember birthdays but not chemical formulas. Many of his friends have moved to new places, and Percy learned the struggle of time zones. His midnight is always someone else's morning.

What do they (day)dream about? ;;
His daydreams are filled with visions of the future: where he'll be and what he'll do years from now. Percy is always thinking about the future, rather than living in the present. He often wonders what career he'll achieve, but he currently sees himself possibly being a computer programmer because of his love for technology and his current major. Whenever university even is more stressful than usual, he can't help but wonder if everything will be okay. Persistence is the only way to know, and Percy likes to keep himself busy. Life is much more fun when there's something to look forward to. He can't wait to see if his friends' crazy road trip plans actually happened. By that time, he hopes to find a mate and maybe even a family. Percy also dreams of traveling the world, so he can satisfyingly whittle down his bucket list one thing at a time.

Why are they tired? They say the night is when crime and people are at their most vulnerable. Its a strange time, nighttime.
It's the only time space is viewable, and without the night, space might not as well exist.
For me, it is when a new world opens up and I can study it to my lesiure.

Let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm fresh out of school, just recently got my second job to pay for my university fees so I can study abroad. I stack shelves for a job, but thats not what I want to do. I love insects. They are amazing creatures that we rarely take notice of. To be exact, I love the night bugs. Fireflies and moon bugs are my favourite. I've seen people who are specialists in their field, for example, a professor of jellyfish. I'm going to be a professor of fireflies and be the most knowledgeable kal in that field.

So this means I have to spend all the time possible studying the fireflies. As soon as my shift ends, I head home and get my sketchbooks and cameras and head to the forest that runs behind my house. I always loose track of time and end up having to snatch a few minutes sleep on my lunch breaks. Luckily stacking shelves doesnt require that much effort!


What do they daydream about? Like I said before, becoming a professional in the field of night bugs is my dream.
