Have you considered purchasing online? Joann's and several other retailers have buckram available on their store websites.

Walmart often has that plastic mesh stuff (Crochet mesh?) and sometimes has cross stitch fabric
I really wasn't fond of either, since the mesh has big holes and doesn't provide a good illusion, and the cross stitch stuff has tiny holes and provides a good illusion, but its a heck to see through
But you could just make temporary eyes with them if you need it right away
