Gus and his snowdog companion originally planned to visit Denmark. However, that plan fell through in the days leading up to the trip. Unfortunately, Gus neglected to inform his snowdog companion that you are required to have a passport to travel to another country.
Thinking quickly, Gus suggested they visit the good old state of New York instead. After all, there were many beautiful sights like Niagara Falls, the border of Canada that can be seen from the falls, and many small towns in places like Buffalo. Nature and history can still be seen and explored in New York, unlike other states where most of it has been industrialized. (Although it can be said that nature's beauty can still be seen, and Gus is just being pessimistic about other states.)
With his snowdog companion, Laika, Gus prepared to set off on a plane to Buffalo, New York. New York City could be classified as "fun" for tourists, but Gus wasn't sure it was a place for a pineapple and magic snowdog. The rats could tear Gus apart! No, their plan was to visit the green forests and see the frozen falls, touring museums and perhaps even a zoo, if they prove their dedication to protecting animals in their exhibits.
What exactly prompted this vacation, might one ask? Well, Gus would tell anyone who asks that it was "Time to take off from boring old office work." Laika would respond with "I want to see what I come from. You don't see much snow in the desert, after all." Poor Laika, huh? You refrain from asking just how she exists, not wanting to cause an existential crisis, but the curiosity bites at you as the silence drags on. Gus pipes up and redirects attention to just how beautiful New York is, if you visit the right places.
Opera and soul music are prevalent, being kept alive in the state of New York. Gus will admit it'd be nice to take a tour in the heart of New York City for that experience, but his fear of rats will not allow Laika to guide him through the packed city.
Maybe they'll take a helicopter tour instead, earning some odd looks from others, but they wouldn't mind. Their vacation is for the two to unwind. [382 Words]
