Entry:
Gus and his snowdog companion originally planned to visit Denmark. However, that plan fell through in the days leading up to the trip. Unfortunately, Gus neglected to inform his snowdog companion that you are required to have a passport to travel to another country.

Thinking quickly, Gus suggested they visit the good old state of New York instead. After all, there were many beautiful sights like Niagara Falls, the border of Canada that can be seen from the falls, and many small towns in places like Buffalo. Nature and history can still be seen and explored in New York, unlike other states where most of it has been industrialized. (Although it can be said that nature's beauty can still be seen, and Gus is just being pessimistic about other states.)

With his snowdog companion, Laika, Gus prepared to set off on a plane to Buffalo, New York. New York City could be classified as "fun" for tourists, but Gus wasn't sure it was a place for a pineapple and magic snowdog. The rats could tear Gus apart! No, their plan was to visit the green forests and see the frozen falls, touring museums and perhaps even a zoo, if they prove their dedication to protecting animals in their exhibits.

What exactly prompted this vacation, might one ask? Well, Gus would tell anyone who asks that it was "Time to take off from boring old office work." Laika would respond with "I want to see what I come from. You don't see much snow in the desert, after all." Poor Laika, huh? You refrain from asking just how she exists, not wanting to cause an existential crisis, but the curiosity bites at you as the silence drags on. Gus pipes up and redirects attention to just how beautiful New York is, if you visit the right places.

Opera and soul music are prevalent, being kept alive in the state of New York. Gus will admit it'd be nice to take a tour in the heart of New York City for that experience, but his fear of rats will not allow Laika to guide him through the packed city.

Maybe they'll take a helicopter tour instead, earning some odd looks from others, but they wouldn't mind. Their vacation is for the two to unwind. [382 Words]

Entry:You can't have a rainbow without a little rain! Tell us about a time when your pet had a bad day, and how they were able to make the most of it in the end.

So as you can see Sahara was in her cage in a house where two kids live Sammy and Kobe group-up said to not to take her out of her cage until a pet sitter came on one night.

So then one rain night it was a green rain that no one has heard before and then she went out of her cage and then she said "Oh boy I am not going back in that cage forever!" and then as she walk in the city she saw that another pet live their Ozone and lived there and it said "Good luck in the green rain your body need the rain and why are you in the rain anyway?!"

She said "because I hear on TV on night when Sammy and Kobe are eating a good meal Toby the weather dog said "cloudy with a bad luck of rain that no one has heard before in their living. and then it started to rain at 11:18 PM and it ended at 6:00 PM. I can hear about Ozone!"

Ozone let her in in her house and then when the rain kept raining they played games and watched how snakes ate a cake and then they said "Green and blue mix together to make a rainbow!!!" and then after that teal or turquoise color rainbow shows up.

The end?!

Entry: “Welcome Home, Cloudshimmer.”

Cloudshimmer hissed as the wind scraped his skin, smelling the potent smoke through the air. As he quickly slithered over rocky and uncomfortable terrain, he began to panic. The rising heat in the forest confirmed his worst fear, as he heard the crash of a tree branch collapsing nearby. He continued his escape, slithering over pokey sticks, hard rocks and prickly leaves as he dashed to make his escape. Behind him, Cloudshimmer could hear the other forest animals' cries as they escaped. Hundreds of hooves and paws galloped by, as Cloudshimmer’s tiny body attempted to keep up the pace.

Boom! Cloudshimmer was stopped in his tracks by a burning tree branch that had fallen before him. He looked around desperately, but there was no one there. All of the other animals had escaped, leaving him behind with the only escape route blocked. Cloudshimmer began to panic, desperately looking around at the ablaze forest. The rising heat and stench of smoke filled his lungs as he began to panic, his breath getting quicker and quicker. Suddenly, he noticed a small gap under a bush, just big enough for him to slip through. He knew staying in the bush wasn’t smart, but he hoped for another escape route. He swivelled his head around again, desperately seeking another option before the spitting embers of the fire forced him to slither under the bush.

He continued to slither once he made it under the bush. Admittedly, just being under the bush gave him a slight reprieve from the heat. He craned his neck, looking around for any escape routes from the bush. He noticed a slight trail in the dirt under the bush, but it didn’t have any footprints. It was a straight trail, with one long line leading to the other side of the bush.

At this point, Cloudshimmer knew that the trail would be his last escape resort. The bush was starting to get hotter, as the raging fires got ever closer. He turned briefly, to gaze at his former home, before following the trail. The trail was long and winding, as he passed under several bushes, intrigued by the first trail he had ever seen that matched his own.

On the other side of the trail, Cloudshimmer was greeted by a pond and a cave engulfed by foliage. The cool water breeze hit his scales, and he breathed a sigh of relief. He could still hear the crashing and breaking of the forest fire, but the cool air was enough to calm his mind. He looked around but he couldn’t see any sign of the creature that left that trail. He was petrified, alone and stuck. He felt the tears of abandonment creep up his body as he slithered past the cool pond to the cave. At least there, he would be safe.

As he approached the rocky and mossy exterior of the cave, he peeked in and was shocked by what he was greeted with.

A sea of rainbow snakes greeted him, bright red snakes with red hearts on their bodies, yellow snakes with fruit in their scales, and shimmering black snakes that resembled a contained universe. They all lifted their head curiously to see who had approached their safe haven. Cloudshimmer was overwhelmed, his breath and heart racing as he looked over a sea of beautiful, colourful snakes like him. One snake slithered to the front, a beautiful white snake with shimmering scales. The snake looked him up and down as Cloudshimmer’s rainbow tail began to wrap around himself anxiously.

“Welcome home, Cloudshimmer.”

Pet's name: Nyx
Adopt virtual pets at Chicken Smoothie!

Entry: “Storm”

Nyx felt a shiver pass through his fur, brought on by the chilly February breeze. He tucked his wings closer to his side, shrinking back against the cold. His red eyes scanned the trees around him, alert and searching for a place to shelter from the coming blizzard. His mouth opened slightly as he tasted the air. The taste approaching snow storm hung on the air, much like how fog would grow in the forest, smelling damp and fresh. Dark gray clouds rolled in from the west, seeming to swallow the crisp blue sky ahead of them, like a blanket being laid over the world. Nyx watched the sky, unease prickling at the back of his neck. It was promising to be one of the worst storms of the year, and, he noted with a grunt, it appeared that he would be left alone to face it. His search for sanctuary had turned up nothing. Suppressing another shiver, he spread his wings and flapped them against the cold air, feeling the sting of frost against his skin. He would have to find shelter elsewhere.

Snowflakes began to drift from the sky as Nyx flew, growing steadily from a light flurry to a heavy blizzard. Nearly blinded by the whipping snow, he forced himself onwards. Still, it wasn’t long before a particularly strong gust of wind blew him off course, sending him tumbling to the ground in a flurry of snow, fur, and yowls of annoyance and fear. He felt himself hit the ground, although the impact was largely dulled by the thick coating of snow that now lay on the once bare forest floor. Nyx shook his head wildly, sending piles of snow flying in all directions. His face twisted into a scowl. What a rotten day this was turning out to be. He slowly and grudgingly pulled his paws from the snow, fighting back the urge to scream every time he sank back beneath it. After one unfortunately placed step, he sank even further than he had expected, letting out a startled yelp as he tumbled down into a burrow.

Nyx sat up groggily, the tang of blood filling his mouth. Great. Just when he thought the day couldn’t get any worse. He was about to grab a pawful of snow to clean off the scratch on his lip when he realized that all at once the wind and snow were gone. He sat up warily, and for the first time looked around at the burrow that he had so gracefully fallen into. It was well lit by a single campfire near a back wall, and a small badger sat next to it, its head tilted in confusion and surprise at its unexpected visitor. Nyx eyed it cautiously, and for a moment neither animal said a word. Then the badger broke into a wide, toothy grin. “Come on then,” he laughed, gesturing for Nyx to sit next to him. “Looking for refuge from the storm?”
Nyx had always been taught to avoid strangers, but the fear he had first felt disappeared almost immediately as he moved to sit next to the badger. The two animals laughed and joked throughout the night, safe from the snow. Nyx smiled widely. He’d never had a friend before, but he quite liked how it felt.

Pet's name: Mr. Calepticus Flivverwhim

Entry:
Mr Calepticus Flivverwhim was not your ordinary librarian. Not because he was a rather enormous dragon - not at all - but because Mr Flivverwhim, full-time book enthusiast and mystery enjoyer, had a dust allergy.
And not a mild one, at that. Mr Flivverwhim had felt it right after getting out of bed. Today, his snout would be especially subsceptible to about anything. He had sneezed two times before breakfast, had blown his nose on his way to the library three times, and his eyes just wouldn't stop watering.
Therefore, today, he had planned to stay away from all the dusty nooks and crannies his working place had to offer.

But as soon as he entered through the big doors, two fully-stacked, unsorted book carts blessed his eyes. Right. He had stuck his nose into all sorts of mysterious magic scrolls yesterday, had even found a laughably tiny key, and had forgotten time and, admittedly, work.
With an annoyed swish of his tail, he shuffled towards the first pair of shelfs to sort in the unnerving books. Tiny dust flakes flew up, danced in the soft morning light that came through the many windows. But Mr Flivverwhim was none to enjoy the nice morning. His nose was tingling, his scales felt itchy and all he wanted to do was curl up in his bed and sleep.

And then he felt it coming. He still had a book between his claws, a very old one with a handcrafted cover; a book that should under no circumstances (!) get damaged.
But the sneeze was out, faster than a blink. It came from the deepest depths of his chest, shot out with a thundrous roar and – may the dragon eldest forgive him – brought with it a sparkling red flame.

The book was ablaze within a second, the dry paper sucking up the flames like a sponge did to water.

Squeaking in shock and surprise, Mr Flivverwhim dropped the book to the ground. He cursed his nose, this day and the world and stomped on the old book until the fire was out. Smoke drizzled up from the now black and crusty cover.
Carefully, he picked it up again. But the cover was beyond salvation. It crumbled under the lightest touch, broke down, fell apart – and revealed a teeny tiny keyhole in the very middle of it.

A second passed, then another. Nothing was to be heard while Mr Flivverwhim stared at the keyhole, crafted into an until then ancient, but unsuspicious book. And then he remembered the littlest of keys he had found between the old scrolls yesterday.
Could it be...? But what a coincidence if it were to fit...! But Mr Flivverwhim wouldn't be himself if he were to let a chance like this pass.
He reached behind himself towards his wings, and grabbed the key which was attached there by a string. Balancing the gold metal between two of his big claws, Mr Flivverwhim navigated the key into the keyhole, turned it around and – with a soft click – opened the cover.

What emerged was a secret compartment. Mr Flivverwhim was beyond thrilled. He sat down, his tail curling up around him in excitement, while he skipped over the three rows of text the cover had revealed. A poem? The librarian read it out loud:

„By ink and dust, let tomes take flight,
Bound in lore, they find their right,
By olden will, the shelves unite!“

The last word hadn't even rolled of his tongue completely, when all the books and scrolls from the two book carts behind him shot up into the air. They turned up and down, as if in search of something, and then got sorted into their shelfs by an invisible hand.

Ohh, a spell to sort books!! Mr Flivverwhim shook his head in delight, his claws curling up around the spellbook, intending to never let it go again.
And as he went to put the now empty book carts away, a hum in his throat, Mr Flivverwhim noticed that the hearty sneeze had cleared his nose.

Pet's name: ♡Boba♡
Entry:

February is cold it seems everywhere in the United States except Florida! Boba spends his days by the beach, sunbathing in the warm, soft sand all day until it's dark out. On a particularly warm day, Boba sits in a folded-out plastic chair, his sunglasses perched atop his little face. It's so cozy, so comfy . . . he could just fall asleep right here.

A few hours pass, and Boba is out cold, so to speak! All alone on the beach, nobody is there to wake him up. He bakes in the hot sun, getting warmer . . . and warmer . . . until his cup starts to melt! His sunglasses are the first to go. They fall into the sand with a soft pat, not nearly loud enough to wake him up. The waves roll, the birds chirp, and still, he's lost in a world of dreams. He starts to leak right out of his cup and into the sand, and suddenly, he's a puddle! He wakes with a startle as a seagull lands in front of him, pecking at his tapioca pearls.

"Hey!" he shouts, his shrill voice cutting over the sound of the soft waves. "Don't eat me! I'm not a snack, bird!" . . . but it doesn't seem to deter the creature. He worries, not sure what to do. He tries to compose himself, tries to slither his way back into his misshapen cup, melted by the sun, but how can he when there's a pest pecking incessantly at him? He begins to lose hope, doing all he can to avoid being eaten by the bird, until someone comes along -- a person! He smiles up at her, grateful as she scoops him (and the surrounding sand) into a brand new cup.

"Thank you, mystery woman!" he cheers, moving about his cup.

"Well, you're welcome." she giggles, her face coming close to observe him through the cup, as if it weren't odd at all that a drink could communicate. "Everyone needs a little help sometimes, don't you think?"

Boba just smiles, his eyes closing as he nods. "I guess so."

They spend the rest of the afternoon together, Boba clutched in the girl's hand, just enjoying the beach together. After all, that was Boba's favorite thing to do, and now he had a friend to share it with.

Entry: Kekan sighed as he glanced out of the cold window. Snowflakes had frosted around the corner, spiralling their way upwards.
Grrr. He thought, his eyes narrowing as he looked bitterly out to the glazed over land. A small, powder-like snow brushed the trees like a gentle whisper and beyond him as all white, pure silver. It looked like it was made of glass, but Kekan knew it was just snow. Stinky, lousy snow.
The reason why Kekan was so upset was because today he was supposed to go hiking with his friend, Speck. Not just any hike either. This was the greatest hike EVER-The Dragon Rock Trails. Stretching over the course of 15 miles, this hike was a reptile zoo turned into a hike. Chameleons, Lizards, Anoles, Tortoises, and Alligators met you at every turn. Your heart would race in expectation. When the hike was completed, you were so excited and tired and happy that you just could burst. At least, that’s what Owen (Speck’s older brother) said. Kekan had never gone to the Dragon Rock Trails, but today, yes today, he would have walked the great Dragon Rock Trails with Speck. Everything was ruined now, all thanks to the snow. Yesterday, the Dragon Rock Trails had called Speck and informed him that the hike would be closing due to the weather. Speck, in return, was bummed, and called Kekan, who was devastated.
Kekan sighed again and turned his gaze back to the outside. A small movement caught the corner of his eyes. He quickly whipped his head around to stare closer. He strained his eyes. It looked like… yes it was! Speck and all his brothers were here! His eyes widened in surprise and he opened his door, galloping out.
They were all carrying something. A sled!
“Speck!” Kekan exclaimed joyfully, running up to meet his friend.
“Hey Kekan!” Speck waved.
“But Speck,” Kekan started, confusion clearly showing on his face, “the hike was cancelled, remember?”
“Yeah, but look! You have a wonderful sledding hill, and this is perfect sledding weather!” Speck said, gesturing to the world around them.
Kekan looked at his backyard. A gleaming hill stood like an unpainted canvas. Kekan grinned widely.
“You know? I think you’re right, Speck.”
