What animal would they shapeshift to when in danger?: She already takes on an animal form (a big blue feline of some sort), but if she needed to take on a different form she might become a dragon. Maybe. Probably not.

(I was going to right the backstory, but instead ended up righting a fan fic, so yeah, this is the quick version.
(the rebellion got shattered, Pink tourmaline and her troops were the new rebels and won over earth, and now somewhere in the clouds theres a gem base. END.)

What animal would they shapeshift to when in danger?: Well, if the enemy wasn't sassed to death already, she would most likely slip into her corrupt form (it's an ability of hers)

i'm writing about one of my pearlsonas atm ! her name's peach pearl and she's pretty shy
it's very long , so i just put it in tiny text :00 to read it, just copy it and then paste it somewhere . also , please give me ideas / tell me how it is ! i know i didn't capitalize anything ; it was intended to be that way .


with a blinding blue light, the warp pad activated.
the two diamonds turned their heads towards the warp pad, ready to meet the strange 'monstrosity' all of the subordinates had been complaining about. the warp stream subsided and a peridot stepped out, tugging a peach pearl along with her.

the peridot only had one eye, a triangular gem where the left eye should be. "my diamond." the peridot let go of the pearl for just a moment to mimic the diamond insignia with her arms. the pearl used that as an advantage and made an attempt to escape, but the peridot was faster. she grabbed the pearl's arm and pulled her back to the peridot's side.

yellow diamond scowled. "facet-4p7r, cut-xe8. careful next time, or i'll have you punished."
the peridot swallowed. "of course, my diamond."
"bring the pearl forward." blue diamond instructed, beckoning the two gems forward.
peridot shoved the pearl, then lead her towards the two diamonds. they towered over the two frightened gems like skyscrapers. beside both of the diamonds' sides stood their respective pearls, and between them were two sinewey quartzes. one was an amethyst by the looks of it, and the other was a citrine. they both looked terribly intimidating.

once at a safe distance, the peridot let go. the pearl didn't even try to run away this time. she stood perfectly still, shifting awkwardly.
yellow diamond raised an eyebrow. she stared at the pearl for a long moment, and then spoke. "what's wrong with her arms?"

the peridot glared at the pearl. all four of the pearl's arms were now twiddling their thumbs nervously.
"ah, about that. we're not sure." the peridot said with a small shrug.
blue diamond scooped up the pearl with one hand, holding her up to examine her. the massive gem scrutinized the pearl, lifting up her arms and carefully looking over all four of them. the pearl often pulled back or tried to writhe away, but blue diamond kept her steady. yellow diamond watched, the disgust evident on her face.

"hm." blue diamond lifted the pearl's chin with a finger so that the pearl looked at the diamond's face. she couldn't make up any facial details beyond the darkness of her hood, but blue diamond was intimidating nonetheless. "who do you belong to?"
"nobody." the pearl's voice was shaky and brittle.

blue diamond turned to look at yellow diamond. "we're not going to do that, blue diamond. she's defective." yellow diamond spat, as if she read blue's mind. yellow pearl smirked.
"yes, i am aware that this pearl is deformed, but do you think she could serve any purpose? she has more arms than usual, that's all." blue replied softly.
"look at her. she's a trembling mess in your hand, blue diamond. how do you think she'd act around quartzes?" yellow argued.
"quartzes are lower ranked."
"what does that have to do with anything? the point is that no pearl should be that scared around a diamond."
blue diamond let out a soft sigh of annoyance.
"fine, then. perhaps she could be a stewardess on the ships for the peridots."
the peridot cut in. "if i may interrupt, we already have a pearl for that."
"fine, then. is white diamond willing to look after this pearl?"
peridot shook her head. "i already asked her."

yellow diamond groaned with vexation. "i'm certainly not taking her."
suddenly, the diamond's eyes widened. she had an idea. "blue diamond," she folded her hands in her lap. "since you're so eager, why don't you take in this pearl?"

"well, 'take in' isn't the word i'd use. i'd be happy to let her be assigned to this court, but i'm not wiling to look after her." blue replied, looking at the small, terror-stricken gem in her hand.

What animal would they shapeshift to when in danger?: Cheetah - Emeralds are weak gemstones, so she would shapeshift into something fast so she could run away.
