They can go and fight a war
A Sapphire has a use
She can tell you what it’s for
An Agate terrifies
A Lapis terraforms

That part got me thinking, and also this:

The Lapis Lazuli that we know is able to manipulate water. Here, we learn for the first time that her gem class' intended purpose is terraforming—to make other planets habitable for the gems to colonize for their various purposes. For instance, Earth was colonized to grow new gems, so one assumes the Lapis class used their powers to help prep Earth for that use.
