This is no time for holding back... you're in the Battledome, where legends are forged and pretenders are swiftly exposed. The chance to prove what you're made of is here - will you make the most of it?
South of the Galar region is a large island, about half the size of a typical region, known as Asura Island. This island is famous for two things - its vast shopping plaza of wares and treasures from regions all around the world, and... The Battledome. A large, dome-like building that has several smaller battle arenas within it, one for each type, and each section named for each type. For example, the Fire Dome and the Fairy Dome. In the centre is a larger battlefield, known as the Central Dome.
So... what is the Battledome?
Trainers from all over gather to compete in 1 v 1 tournaments in each of the 'type' domes, entering a single Pokémon of that dome's type (or the 'main' type for those Pokémon that are dual-typed). The winners of each tournament earn a ribbon for their Pokémon and are one step closer to entering the Central Dome tournament - for which trainers must enter with six Pokémon that have all earned a Battledome ribbon for their type. Numerous tournaments for each type take place simultaneously over the course of a month - each one taking approximately three days, Day One being the 1st round of 16 trainers, Day 2 being the quarter- and semi-finals, and Day 3 is the final and ribbon ceremonies. This is sometimes squeezed in two days, when days are needed to be freed up for the Central Dome tournament, or the Battledome Champion tournament. And the process begins again the next day. At the end of the month, the trainers that have a ribbon for each Pokémon in their team are able to enter the Central Dome tournament - a series of 6 v 6 battles until one is crowned the Battledome Champion. Additionally, once a year, all the Battledome Champions of the past year return to compete for the title of Battledome Champion of the Year.
And this is where you are. Ready to enter the tournaments, make new friends and rivals, explore the island and hopefully work towards becoming the next Battledome Champion. The question remains - will you make the most of it?
