The Forgotten- Semi-Lit Roleplay. [Now open for posting!]

Postby Wildmagic_warrior » Fri Dec 10, 2010 4:10 pm

Maxine Cooper raced through the moonlit woods, cursing loudly as a clump of brambles snared the leg of her pants and tore it, scratching skin along with fabric. She could feel the blood oozing down her ankle, her white sock soaking it up and staining itself red. She tripped over a heap of broken branches and fell, turning back to look at the huge creature which loomed over her. The girl sitting in front of the computer leaned back in her chair and glared at the computer screen angrily. "Nobody has responded to my post in over two months." She sighed, and went to the first page of the roleplay. She clicked the edit button, and where the words "Shipwreck RP: Open" were once typed she wrote, "Roleplay has died." A few days later, a moderator has swept through and locked it up, and a few days after that the topic itself disappears, leaving no hint that Maxine Cooper ever existed.
But perhaps somewhere, in a land not unlike our own, all the forgotten roleplay characters still live happily, unaware that they were ever supposed to be somewhere else. Perhaps they would have killed a dragon, saved a girl, went to war, or maybe even died in the end. But instead, their fate was changed forever when the words "This Roleplay Has Died" were typed into the topic bar at the top of the page.

Rules:
-This RP is semi-lit, so no one-liners.
-Be descriptive, really.
-Watch your spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. Since we're humans, I am completely fine with an accidental mistake though.
-All Tess's rules apply, of course. So keep everything PG-13.
-I am the creator of this RP. Please do not get mad at me if I tell you something or try to help. Remember: Sorbet is the dog in my signature.
-I can kick you out of this RP if I see fit.
-For "History" and "Personality", I don't want to see "Will RP" or "Can't Remember". These are lame excuses to get out of typing, and a red flag for anyone looking to weed out non-literate roleplayers.
-Romance is allowed, violence encouraged - but keep it all child friendly, yes?
-No swearing. If need be, make up something creative that isn't offensive. Alliterations make nice curses.
-Keep genders even.
-You may not RP until after I have accepted you.
-Your character doesn't have to be human, but it can't be one you're using in a current roleplay. It must be a character from a roleplay which has died. I will be going through your current roleplays to check this if you don't put a link in your form, so if the roleplay has been deleted please let me know.
-If you were kind enough to read the rules all the way through, will you do me one last favor? Sorbet loves to play hide and go seek, and I can't find her. Would you mind sending me a PM, telling me where she is?

Wildmagic_warrior wrote: FORM
Username: Wildmagic_warrior
Character Name: Maxine Cooper
Nickname, if any: Max
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Personality: Fierce and fast, much like a Tigress in her own way. Needs no weapon to kill someone, although to hunt she'd probably build a spear or something. Can be kind, sometimes, but prefers to keep to herself and isn't overly fond of human company.
History: Her parents died when she was seven, in an epidemic, and she was on her own for a long time. She learned martial arts, and she lived, no, thrived, on her own. She was happy where she was, but wanted a new scenery, so she went on the ship fated for doom.
Detailed Description [no pictures!]: Tall, lithe and willowy, agile, quick and flexible, is a black belt in martial arts. Long, golden brown hair, which she keeps in a braid. Tanned skin, deep green eyes, wears a gray tank top and sandy-colored, knee length breeches.
Original Roleplay [name and link, please]: Survive This Land: Shipwreck RP

Wildmagic_warrior wrote:FORM
Username: Wildmagic_warrior
Character Name: Sonja Wende
Nickname [if any]: None.
Age: 26, but looks about 14
Gender: Female
Species: Dragon-human hybrid [A halfling, if you will]
Personality: Sonja is a girl of many ways. She enjoys reading, and it's possible that she would rather live in a book than in the real world. Everyone is her friend, and she loves to sing. She gets into trouble constantly, though, for pulling pranks. Sometimes, when she's in a bad mood or just feeling sad, she can be downright pessimistic. She says she's just being a realist, though. Sonja doesn't know how to keep her mouth shut, either. She loves to talk, and sometimes she can't tell when you're kidding. She tends to hold grudges. Try not to piss her off, because she'll hit you with whatever happens to be in her hands.
History: She doesn't know a whole lot about her family's past, but she has always known that she was completely different from normal humans. For one thing, her mother's family completely disowned her mother after they saw she had given birth to a halfling. Sonja has outlived her mother by seven years (she died of tuberculosis), and without the support of family, it's tough just to get by. She lives in a tiny house on the edge of a tiny plot of land. For some reason, the only plants hardy enough to grow there are onions and turnips. These useless crops don't exactly sell for much, so her diet consists mostly of what she can scavenge or trade for. She's good with her hands, and can sometimes earns a few dollars doing patchwork on clothes or a few fancy embroidery stitches on a dress.
Detailed Description [no pictures!]: Sonja stands at about five foot six, with long golden-brown hair that hangs to the middle of her back. She keeps it in a braid, usually. Her legs are long, making her a fast runner, and she is strong from years of work growing what scant crops can be grown on the dry farmland she tends to. She prefers the colors blue, yellow, and dark green. Her eyes are dark chocolate brown, set behind short lashes. They are a dreamer's eyes, but her chin is entirely stubborn. Her nose is thin-bladed, long, and slightly lifted at the end. Hair, when not in a braid, is kept tucked behind her pointed ears, which are pierced and hung with teardrop-shaped blue stones. Sometimes she keeps a pencil there, too. Her stubby horns poke out just above her hair, and she has patches of blue scales covering her body from her shoulders to her thighs. It's part of the reason she doesn't go swimming, ever.
Original Roleplay [name and link, please]: It was entitled "Escape from Laboratory X", but has since been deleted. I'm currently using a newer version of Sonja in a roleplay called "Dragon Kin".

History:She was born into DarkClan, and remained there till shortly after her warrior ceremony, then she came here.
Detailed Description [no pictures!]:She is on the small size in the average range, she's more on the stocky than slim side. Her fur is slightly coarse and dense, and of medium-small length. Its color is a muddy brown, with darker stripes down her back. She has white toes on all four paws, but that's as far as it goes. Her eyes are field-in-summer-green, and almond-shaped. Her tail is ringed, the same darker brown as her stripes. Her head is round, and her ears are completely average in every way.

Terra Dragon wrote:Username: Terra Dragon
Character Name: David Marshall
Nickname: Dave
Age: 67
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Personality: David is a very kindly old man, full of wisdom, energy, memories, and comfort. He is a simple sort of man, gentle and quite most of the time, but he can get tough when he needs to. Gruff, honest, loving and taking life at a slow pace,he knows he'll eventually reach death-but it's not like it's gonna be bad. He is caring and knowledgeable, practical and makes a bold presence when you meet him.
History: When David was young, he grew up in Louisiana as a young boy. But Jim Crow Laws where in great effect there, and he and his mama, pop, and two brothers and sister all moved up to New York where there wasn't as much discrimination. He had spend most of hi time on the streets, and got tangled in some bad drugs when he was about 14 or so..... He wasted many years of his life on these death-inducing devils before finally realizing his problem and going to rehab. It was extremely tough, but one thing gave him faith-the woman who he met in the center. They supported each other and eventually fell in love, getting married soon after getting out of the rehab center, scotch-free. They spent a few happy years together and had no children beyond two who they took in from the frosty woods and protected for a winter. Eventually, his wife died from a deadly case of phenomena. It was all he had to not go back to drugs-instead, he found friends and tried to take a positive view in life, become a monk and not a bitter man-and he has, for the most part.
Detailed Description [no pictures!]: David's skin is a dark, chocolaty color. He has a wide and heavy wrinkled brow, and black freckles. A mustache and short-trimmed beard and hair of a short steel grey color, raggedy, complete his old-man hobo look, along with his practical but tattered clothes. He wears thick glasses and rarely uses a cane, as he still feels relatively limber, even after all these years. He is about 6 foot 3 inches tall, and weighs about 185lbs or so. He has darker brown eyes and a strong chin, dished face, big ears and a big, rounded nose.
Original Roleplay [name and link, please]: ...You Make Me Smile, wasn't it?

dogpy59 wrote:FORM
Username: dogpy59
Character Name: Hunter
Nickname [if any]: None
Age: 18 years (counting from the time he was made)
Gender: Male
Species: Werewolf (in the Twilight sense, sadly, because it would have been very restricting for him to only be able to change at the full moon. Plus, it makes more sense for him to become a full wolf, rather than a half-wolf.)
Personality: He's very persistent and independent, so he hates for anyone to take care of him. However, since he's a werewolf, he needs companions and can often be seen with a motley of wolves or other predators (canine or otherwise) around him, very rarely humans, as they are sometimes intimidated by his wild demeanor. He's very intelligent and confident, and he's a big troublemaker. He's very loyal to his friends.
History: He was created when a werewolf found him almost dead at the foot of a cliff after a terrible car accident when he was 16. He had parents who were usually drunk and liked to abuse him, so he was glad to get away from them. Since then, he has become wary of humans and absolutely hates alcohol. He meets up and travels with the werewolf who created him every once in a while, his only good friend.
Detailed Description [no pictures!]: As a human: Tall and muscular, with deeply tanned skin and black, shaggy hair. Has blue eyes, the only non-woodsy color on his body. Usually wears black or dark blue shirts and worn jeans, sometimes a ski jacket when it get's really cold. (Note: when he changes, his clothes change with him. Somehow. Just to make it more simple.)
As a wolf: Russet brown (no, NOT after Jacob) with black paws and tips on ears and tail. Has golden eyes. Very big and has sharp teeth and claws.
Original Roleplay [name and link, please]: ...Um, I think In the Shadows Mythology RP? It was deleted.

crimsonmansion wrote:Username: crimsonmansion
Character Name: Christolph von Blutengel
Nickname [if any]: 'Christo' anything less flattering results in pummeling
Age: 1840 years old but that was in the fall of 1891
Gender: Male
Species: Nosferatu Vampire
Personality:
Meeting Christolph for the first time is not likely a situation one would easily forget; possessing a powerful aura of masculinity, his intimidating and orderly mannerisms cause him to stick out in a crowd even among those with a military background. Leaving aside his appearance (which is frightfully intense enough), the General can be viewed in three various lights depending on his behavior or the opinions of others. Like a puzzle box, he is an immortal that tends to be either impossible to read…or far too predictable. Whether presenting himself as a cautious loner or talkative social aristocrat, Christolph has managed to gain quite a reputation that further fuels the mysteries of him. Continued on original character sheet, page one.

History:
Being that he has lived for so long, and also that he is quite a man to make a name for himself; Christolph has been involved with several time periods in history...however, since such stories would take a great deal of time to divulge; I shall give the highlights. Continued on original character sheet, page one.

Detailed Description [no pictures!]:
At a height of 6'3'' and a muscular mass of around 300lbs, Christolph's stature and presence demands intimidation, respect, and fear. Short blond hair with a longer thick lock falling down to his cheek is accented by his intense Prussian blue eyes that seem to gaze deep into the souls of anyone he glares at. The marble cut facial features give him a handsome yet rough face that looks worn by battles and wars. His massive chest and arms are the highlights of his flesh, and despite his extensive history of fighting, the only scars he contains are from consecrated weapons…which continue to fade and disappear with the passing time.

Sticking to well tailored suits and uniforms radiates at how deeply rooted his anal compulsive nature truly is. His wardrobe is full of uniforms from various time periods, which he will often sport for the pure majesty of it. Finding a particular fancy for the combination of red and black, the colors strike harsh against his features and flesh tone; making him seem colder and more brutal. Christolph chooses to wear little or no jewelry except a thick ring bearing the seal of his clan, and any medals or decorations that fit his uniform. Every portion of his apparel is meticulously cleaned and well cared for; proving that he has high expectations for appearance, and does not tolerate slobs.

When angered or stressed out, his intensely blue eyes will pale out to a solid white. His broad fangs have been seen extending over two inches when feasting, but due to the unknown capabilities of his transformations; it is assumed that they could possibly lengthen further. With his militaristic manner, Christolph walks and talks like a seasoned General, and even when lounging comfortably he still seems to always be on alert for possible danger.

Bearcoon wrote:FORM

Character Name: Madeava Nightshade
Nickname [if any]: Maddie or Deva, though she's never been called them before.
Age: Twenty-One Years
Gender: Female
Species: Typical Human
Personality: Life has taught Madeava one lesson, at least one important one. People cannot be trusted, no matter what they look like, say, or do. She is convinced to the very fiber of her being that she is the only one she can ever trust. Depending on another person is near on murder to her, she's sure she'll die. When in the presence of another human being (or other) she's tense beyond belief, always watching, almost waiting for something to go wrong. With women it may not be so bad, perhaps after time a relationship might actually form, but men may as well be the devil.
Once one has broken down all these self protective barriers, Madeava is not so terrible to be around. She may have an odd sense of humour, given to her by her grandmother, and an also very odd sense of how things ought to be, but she's the type of simple that is a refreshing compared to most. She has trouble getting things into words, often making conversations harder to hold, but she'll get there eventually. All she needs is time when it comes to most things, then the possibilities may well be endless.

History: As cliché as everyone knows it is, Madeava was infact born on a dark and stormy night. The attributes of a story book character continued on since then as her mother had finally returned home, unfortunately for the very last time. Madeava was born in her grandmother's simple little house in the middle of a swamp not far from a nondescript town, her mother dying moments afterwards. This never seemed to bother her though, finding herself content to live with her grandmother and no one else. The where abouts of her father were never known, Madeava's mother having run off at a rather young age and only returning to bring her daughter into the world. This too never phased Madeava, not even sure why anyone would find that important. The swamp, her grandmother, and their adventures there were the only thing that ever mattered and ever would. Or so though the then fourteen year old girl.
Madeava had seen her grandmother's death coming, the woman being old but determined to see Madeava to adulthood. Madeava choose to ignore it, thinking that the stubborn woman would get her way in the end. There was no such luck. Grandmother died that miserable night, leaving Madeava completely on her own. It shocked the girl more than maybe even she realized, leaving her a broken mess for near on a week afterward. By that time her mind had pieced together a solution for itself. She would have to leave the swamp and find someone to take her in. Though she knew plenty of the swamp and it's mysteries, she knew she could not brave them alone.
Doing exactly that she set out to the afore mentioned town, full of trepidation and worry, but her mind had been made up. From there the townsfolk eventually passed her along to an orphanage in the farther off city, finding no one to look after her in their own small community. Her melodramatic life continued on in exactly that pattern, the orphanage's directors soon finding they had been given quite the little nut case. The girl told strange stories, frightening stories, stories that certainly no normal child would tell. She had no regard for personal space, no regard for practically anything at all. Madeava was insane, they were sure of it.
The asylum was nothing at all what she expected, being told they would be better suited to help poor unsuspecting Madeava. Instead, it may well have been hell on earth. (glossing over for graphic/disturbing stuffs). She never did escape, but she did learn how to appear normal and not was her saving grace. At the age of eighteen she was allowed to leave, with papers to prove it. No money in her pockets and only tattered clothes on her malnourished frame, Madeava was dead set on returning home. Back to the swamp and never to leave again.

Detailed Description [no pictures!]:On the short side, which annoys her to no end. If a number had to be put on it she would hazard a guess at 5'3, but she hasn't bothered to worry about that in a while.
Her Auburn hair always seems to splay out in odd angles or flop in her pale green eyes. Usually though, it is held back by the crimson scarf worn around her head. The thing has become a bit of a security blanket when Madeava takes the odd excursion to town, her way of hiding in plain sight.
Because of her life being either in the swamps or inside some building deprived of light, she is pale. This only serves to further her reputation in the village as some sort of ghost or banshee. Her face is usually forlorn, with an age about it that is beyond her years. If perhaps she would smile it might be pretty, but there rarely is one.
Her normal garb is a emerald green dress, stopping just at her ankles, and a large leather over coat trimmed with some kind of fur. Her heavy black boots are always mud spattered, as is the rest of her.
Original Roleplay [name and link, please]: Simply called 'The Epic RP' – Off site and the forum is members only. The gist of it was following the typical fantasy story pattern, and Madeava played the reluctant hero.

Quite the gentlemanly charmer with high expectations for behavior and formalities, Christolph can be rather suave, sincere, and generous to those that choose not to vex him harshly. He is a man that demands great respect, and has a low tolerance for anything less than fitting of his station and ethics. Admirers often find him to be extremely well-mannered, rustic, and yet orderly at the same time. With regards to romance in general, Christolph doesn’t mind indulging in such things to treat another person respectfully, but he finds great trouble in expressing deep love outside of friendships. Due to certain events in his past, he has hardened his heart to true love; placing it deep within a stone sarcophagus, heavily chained, and covered in barbwire. Poetically tragic enough, he inwardly yearns deeply for love…but is so pained by it that he cannot provide commitment; choosing to detest, avoid, and run away from it whenever it shows its rosy head. Christolph will quickly claim that his hard life of war and species doesn’t permit him to express such emotion, but his close friends know differently.

There are many things that his true comrades know about him that others do not easily see, for Christolph is a man true to his word, concerned with being just and fair, always seeking to do what is right, and despite his love of warfare is constantly seeking avenues around it. A natural leader, Christolph is only a coward in love and proves his bravery in every other aspect of his life. As a commanding officer, he leads his men from the front instead of behind; forming close bonds of trust with them despite his strict exterior. Challenging those around him, he pushes people so harshly that they either break or become stronger in the process. It is for this reason and not simply due to his skill in warfare that he has obtained the high position of General in his vampiric clan; gaining great respect among the elders for his constant displays of loyalty and expectations.

Containing a loud and destructive temper brought on by frustration, betrayal, or vexation; Christolph is a gentleman until provoked that doesn’t enjoy having his rules or codes of conduct violated in any manner. He attempts to be fair and even lenient when confronted properly, but when his rage is flirted with he can forget all grounds of rationalism and act accordingly to his own primeval desires. Because of this, he is often in the presence of those that have the power to balance him out; making his personality a bit more reasonable and controlled. Although he enjoys a good fight, Christolph attempts to take methods to avoid messy ordeals; finding that the end result is often far more catastrophic than what he wants. Often wrongfully considered a ‘bully’ due to his brash behavior, Christolph would rather protect the weak than inflict pain on them; desiring fair fights rather than unequaled ones since he enjoys being challenged. It is difficult to view such a violent man in the light of a diplomat, but the burly German uses his powers of charisma, intimidation, and honor to gain the trust of others.

History:
Being that he has lived for so long, and also that he is quite a man to make a name for himself; Christolph has been involved with several time periods in history...however, since such stories would take a great deal of time to divulge; I shall give the highlights.

Christolph (originally named Kristof) was born in Germania to the Chatti people who rebelled against the Roman Empire, but he was eventually captured and sold into slavery as a gladiator. He becomes a highly worshipped man due to his 'barbarism', but instead of relishing in the glory Christolph saves up everything for the day that his freedom is granted. Once given, he travels north in the spring of 81 and arrives later that year to find his homeland barren. Mourning for his lost family, Christolph is overtaken by a powerful creature of the night. It wasn’t a Germanic Nachzehrer vampire that attacked the mortal, but a Romanian Nosferatu traveling from his original hunting grounds to seek out new conquests. He had found this large German irresistible, and had to feast on his virile blood.

82-500: Spending roughly four hundred years in the company of his new master, Kristof was cultured in the ways of their kind. Taught to read and speak in several languages, he was pruned in every aspect. His travels brought him all over Europe, and he quickly became an asset to his brethren. Having an instinctive niche for battle, his transformation only made him stronger. He became skilled in a large assortment of weaponry, but always favored the honorable sword over all others.
810: Met Charlemagne and agreed to help fund his Carolingian Renaissance so that there was an increase in literature, the arts, architecture, and other studies.
1066: Participated in the Battle of Hastings, where he was depicted in the famous Bayeux Tapestry.
1208: Met and trained under the leadership of Genghis Khan. Kristof learned advanced tactics in horsemanship and bow weaponry.
1490: Meets with Ludwig von Blutengel and is given the proposition of joining with the Blutengel coven. He is allowed four years to think about it.
1494: Accepted and initiated into the Blutengel clan of Wiesbaden, he was honored to receive the new name Christolph von Blutengel; it was here that he chose to finally cut off his long hair in a symbolic gesture of trust.
1524: During the Peasants’ War, his allegiance for the Blutengel family and powers of leadership granted him many honors.
1618-1648: Participated on orders in the Thirty Years War.
1756-1763: Participated on orders in the Seven Years' War.
1776-1780: Conscripted by his clan to lead Hessian forces to fight for Britain against the American revolutionaries. He gained quick respect and control over his men (who were mainly debtors, criminals, or drafted) because he payed them more than their government (which often provided them little more than food). Savage and brutal against the Americans, his regiment resisted capture on several occasions when others were. Because of his dealing with Britain, Christolph's English improves.
1792-1802: Participated on orders in the French Revolutionary War.
1805-1815: Participated on orders in the Napoleonic Wars.
1888-1890: During the year of the Three Emperors, Christolph took extensive leave of his military duties and went on holiday. Spending a few years in Japan yielded him several Woodblock prints by Hokusai, Hiroshige, and Eisen. He trained in the art of fighting from the samurai.
1891: Christolph had made his way to Paris for the period of prosperity known as La Belle Époque (The Beautiful Period). Post Impressionists like Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec drew his attention there, for he was willing to indulge every sense into the culture of the time.
