Been getting back into Neopets nowadays: I know I've played it on and off for a while, but I've been partaking in more of the creative contests lately, giving it a more fandom-y role in my interactions with it.

Beyond that, I'm kinda... between fandoms right now? Last huge obsession I had was Transformers, and that's kinda faded out into background 'yeah it's cool' feelings now. I miss it, TBH. Hopefully something else will come along soon.

one piece has sucked me in completely in a way i didnt expect because i believed every bad thing non-fans had to say about it (goes on for way too long, misogyny, mid, overrated). but the story telling is compelling and the world building incredible. the thing that shines the most is the character writing though. rarely do i find character writing in shonen that is so thoughtful and impactful. Oda is rly good at eliciting emotions in his readers.

and most of the themes he writes are explored in a conscientious way, not to mention the messages he tries to impart in his story are ones that i appreciate especially in my life rite now, which are: duck the government & rich bastards, be kind, ur real family is by choice and should always stand by u thru hell & highwaters and be free & live.
