The only shinies I have are from chain fishing (which kind of feels like cheating!). I bred at least two full boxes of eevees trying to get a shiny for a friend once... trying.

My first unintentional shiny while breeding was a shiny Skidoo in Alpha and Sapphire. First one in game was a shiny Wingull in the same game. I didn't catch it though.
Most of the shinnies I have are from giveaways, 90% of them being obviously generated. lol

Okay, In Ultra moon there have been a few lucky cases where I were wandering around and found shinies without even thinking about them.

First off, I was running around exeggutor island and bumped into a random shiny pinsir! I immediately caught it.

Second off, In Poni Plains I ran into a shiny Fearow. Caught it too.

Other than that there have been some encounters in Ultra space wilds and wonder trading.

i got incredibly lucky, and achieved a shiny rayquaza in emerald after about fifteen resets.

on like my twenty first try in ultra moon i hatched a shiny rockruff!



i don't have any pictures of my actual son but his name is moon and i love him!!!

he would evolve into a midnight form lycanroc though (i was hoping for dawn or dusk) so i prefer to keep him unevolved
