Hey everyone,
We're currently working to make the pet rarity categories more useful by spreading the pets out better throughout the categories, so that most pets aren't mostly lumped into just two categories ('common' and 'uncommon'):
We need everyone's help to decide which change will be the best going forwards.
The first option is to keep our current rarity categories, but spread the pets out to make better use of the labels:
The second option is to add one new rarity category, "very uncommon", and spread pets out to take advantage of that:
That'd give us this list of rarities:
- OMG so common
- Very common
- Common
- Uncommon
- Very uncommon
- Rare
- Very rare
- OMG so rare
The third option is to add four new rarity categories, which will allow even finer distinctions between the rarity of pets:
That'd give us this list of rarities: (new ones in bold)
- OMG so common
- Extremely common
- Very common
- Common
- Uncommon
- Very uncommon
- Extremely uncommon
- Rare
- Very rare
- Extremely rare
- OMG so rare
We would also update the rarity bars to add divisions between each rarity level, so it's easier to count up which level the rarity is at:
Please also be aware that adding and redistributing rarities will result in some pets appearing to lose or gain value if they were on the edge of a rarity category, especially if there are more new categories added. However, this will serve to more accurately depict the pets’ rarity so we view it as a necessary adjustment.
Once the best option is decided, we'll announce that new system in advance, and then make that change two weeks later.
