I love dressage! I originally started in showjumping, but was taught incorrectly by a novice instructor. After years of being so stiff and tense, I developed a fear of jumping. Now I ride with an Olympic level dressage instructor, trying to fix all the mistakes my previous instructor made. I must say, it is truly difficult to fix years and years of mistakes and bad habits, but it really makes me feel fufilled after a good day of riding.

answer cross country! i love jumping (and riding in general). there's something about jumping over obstacles, surrounded by the calm beauty of nature that just makes me love it. i hope to start my 5yo mare over jumps soon, hopefully progressing our way into cross country! i love watching and taking photos as well, so that's always a plus. dressage, i also think, would be a very cool thing to learn and do! i admire those who pull off all those fancy moves with their horses. overall though, cross country is my top pick c:

answer It's super hard to figure out what my favorite event is. It is definitely a tie between Drill Team and Show Jumping. I did a lot of jumping when i was in middle school and high school but once it was my senior year of high school I started doing drill team which my mare seemed to love. It was super funny though to see an english horse surround by barrel and western show horses doing maneuvers to music.

answer I like dressage because you can tell how much training both the horse and the rider have had to go through to get there, especially if they’re doing very complicated routines.
I can imagine them training for hours everyday, sometimes through the night, to make sure they have their routine down pat for the competitions.
