Owner: δρεπάνι
Name: Astraea
Gender: female
Breed Specific Gene Suggestion:
A brindle variation based off of aardwolves and/or striped hyenas (this collie actually has a similar appearance to what I had in mind). For the most part, the striping pattern in both species look the same. The only major difference is in striped hyenas, there's a patch of black on the throat. Also, the striping on aardwolves is a bit more sparse.

Both species express dark points on the muzzle, legs, and the tips of their tails, although it's worth noting the dark points on the legs don't always appear. The darkening on the muzzle actually makes me think that maybe this brindle variation only has a chance of being expressed whenever masking (Em) is also present in the genotype.

Both species also have manes that are often tipped in black. Since collies don't have manes, I was thinking it could be a dorsal stripe that runs down the back, similar to ones found in dun horses, thus lending it even more uniqueness to separate it from the normal brindle gene.

Owner: vinson
Name: suzzallo’s saintly survivor ‘fintan’
Gender: male
Breed Specific Gene Suggestion: abundism (abundistic white, abundistic brindle)

Similar to pseudo-melanism/abundism as shown in zebras, the dog’s coat is marked by spots the same color as the base coat, leaving behind only a few white spots and white colored legs. It does not present on heterozygous adult dogs and is not affected by the T locus, and may present on any coat color. It is unaffected by the A locus, and any pattern may express under the abundistic white (eg. tan point). It is denoted by the gene ‘sa’ on the S locus and presents as white legs with striping, white head, and neck striping if homozygous (sasa) and a polka dot pattern on puppies if heterozygous or homozygous. Puppies will not show the characteristic polka dot pattern if Ssa, and any heterozygous puppy will grow out of/not show abundistic white markings and instead show normal white markings as an adult. If the dog is kbrky and sasa then brindle does not present, but if kbrkbr and sasa then the brindle presents as extremely thick stripes. Abundistic brindle only presents if abundistic white and brindle are homozygous, and overrides any abundistic white markings. Dogs homozygous for abundistic white, even if not expressed due to abundistic brindle, are at a 10% risk for deafness due to the white markings on the ears, but are not inherently at risk for blindness as the white markings usually leave the area around the eyes untouched.
genotype reference:
sasa - abundistic white markings as a puppy and adult
sisa, spsa, swsa - abundistic white markings as a puppy
Ssa - no abundistic white markings
kbrky sasa - abundistic white markings as a puppy and adult, no brindle is present
kbrky sisa, spsa, swsa - abundistic white markings as a puppy, no brindle is present
kbrkbr sasa - abundistic brindle, no white markings are present
kbrkbr sisa, spsa, swsa - abundistic white markings as a puppy, normal brindle is present

Breed Specific Gene Suggestion: Few spot apaloosa horse pattern! Found:
Here 1
Here 2
This could be called crisping (like crispy toast? I dont know lol) and could be in a harlequin pattern on the dog as a gene mutation or a new coat marking all together instead of the black few spot pattern this could just be a darker shade of whatever colour the dog is (albinism is possible with a lighter shade instead, say a 5% random chance of it?) On whites crisping would show as black, creams would be a dark sandy colour, blues would be a deep grey ect. Intensity could also affect how diluted the crisping is,

Gene wise: this would be a gene in the form of Harlequin where it could be present on a dog but not show if it doesn't have merle, crisping can form lighter shades on a dog but it is most common darker colours. CH would be its phenotype abbreviation, crisped harlequin would be what shows on the colour below - my art skills are lacking i feel like this could look awesome if waverly or j.bourne would do them because you two are ace at art

Breed Specific Gene Suggestion:

perhaps something like an owl, where there is a ring of color around the dog's eyes? and speckled, feather-like markings around the dog's neck/tails/back?
the marking can be called "Goggles" or "Owl Rings"

(also, i mean the dark ring that kinda looks like surprised eyebrows, not the light "mask"-like marking surrounding the eyes)

examples!:
linked for size oops
linked for size 2

hopefully this isnt already a thing oops

Breed Specific Gene Suggestion:
Spider markings
Inspired by spider morph ball pythons. The spider marks are the markings that creep down the body of the snake. It’s irregular and broken but beautiful. Though it’s a v controversial topic in the snake community since spider ball pythons will develop neurological issues where they “wobble”, I think it could be a nice addition to the collies. It could be a variant of brindle.

Breed Specific Gene Suggestion: sugar gliders!

Have a bit of a fading base of any coat color. Then a dark version of that coat color as the black markings, then either a white or lighter version of the base color as the cream color. There are a lot of different versions of sugar glider markings and they can have piebald. Their markings are more simple but yet they look really interesting. You could also do reverse sugar glider markings which i think would just look awesome! Maybe Sgr_ for the gene, Rsg_ for reverse?

examples these are just quick and simple examples you guys I think could pull it off better. If anything where is white is you could do the darker color too ( that also looks pretty cool )
