Sterling’s worst enemy is his handler... Or, to be more specific, the things that his handler makes him do. Girth too-tight, bridle uncomfortable behind his ears, bit cold against his tongue. Even worse are the wraps that go tight around his legs, or the bonnet that goes over his ears, muffling the world around him. Going around and around an arena, circles after circles after circles, changing direction only to go back around again. Training and working out drives Sterling insane, and so he tries his hardest to avoid the humans that make him do those maddening things. Raising his head above the reach of the humans, refusing to be caught from the pasture, ducking and weaving around the humans as their hands try to grab him. Of course, they’re not his enemies when they’re giving him food or scratches... And that’s often when he gets himself caught.
