In response to vanilla bean....
Making your way out to the foyer has it's benefits, you suppose. You got a second to look back at the chaos around you- a mass of people scattering, screaming and sharp orders being barked by the mercenaries. Being out of the room made it harder to look back, however, and you don't think there was anything that you could've possibly noticed from the scene. What you did notice, however, was the resounding bangs throughout the room. Perhaps it would be best to be on your way.

Despite the crowd pushing you forward, against all of the physics you manage to take in the room behind you. The crowd is moving in a frenzy, although it seems like the mercenaries are only after a specific person... or people, for that matter. The father you had in this universe is standing rigidly at his spot on the table, hand outstretched. The family that had recently come to settle in with you remained with him at the table, glowering at him, while the mercenaries forced everyone out of the room with haste.
You yelled your accusing question as loud as you could and yet the only two that turned towards you was your own father and the child of the new family, the only that had previously pulled arms on you. They looked at you with wide, panicked eyes, whereas your father could only cast you a worried glance before his attention was pulled elsewhere. All things must come to an end and you find yourself getting sucked into the last bit of the crowd, some of the guild leaders that knew you were shoving you hastily towards the door. You almost wish you could stay, to figure out what they were talking about around the table.

You seem to be lagging behind on the train to leave, and it gives you a chance to steal passing glances as you scurry around and away from the scene. The mercenaries are advancing, but still ultimately have their weapons drawn. In fact, the only gunshots ringing are the intimidating warning shots. They seem to be ushering everyone out of the room, if anything. Your father stands still at the table, frozen in place with his eyes glowering at a graying man in a fancy suit that was sitting only a couple seats down the table, across from him. A mercenary catches your gaze and you can see them make a silent snarl at you; despite the fact that they seem uninterested in everyone else, something dangerous sparkles in their eyes when they spot you.
The blood rushing through your ears and the panicked cries of the people make it hard to hear, but you feel like you can vaguely hear your father hiss out "...never should have let you in."
That's all you can make before you decide to weave amongst the crowd, keeping a weary eye on the mercenary that suddenly seems frustrated that they lost sight of you.
