This is my dog, Rusty. He died on October 13, 2009. He was almost 12 years old. He had been sick for months. He refused to eat anything, and threw up almost every day. This was a hard time for my family. I had had him since I was one year old, and my sister had had him since she was born. This winter is going to be especially difficult. Rusty loved winter. Every year, on the first day it snowed, he would beg to be let outside to play. No matter how old he was, snow always turned him into a puppy again. His favorite day of the year was Christmas, which was also his birthday. He always got excited when it was time to open presents, and he would go crazy over his own gifts. He was always an important member of our family. We will always miss you, Rusty.
