This is however not the case from his perspective. He feels lonely in the crowd that's attracted to him because of his appearance and happy go lucky demeanor. Below the gleeful surface he longs for a deeper connection but fears letting someone in because in his experience, this has led to invalidation and rejection. His vulnerability has been used as a weakness before. So he upholds his image and his role because this is something he knows, waiting for someone who is willing to see and accept him at his core.

Rarely does she shift, but when she does, it takes a great amount of energy, leaving her exhausted afterwards. While grounded, Maura likes to live an ordinary life on planet Aquarus (a water-covered planet with only a few masses of land, connected by long stretches of docks and bridges). She spends her days helping the central fisheries and helps with food donations towards weary travelers.
