I take a deep breath
Wiggling my toes in the semi-damp sand
I can hear seagulls cry far off in the distance

A tear runs down my cheek
Remembering just a year ago when we were on the beach
You said "I'm off to find something new, something better."
Then you walked off into those crashing waves
The sun shone so brightly that day

I stand here now, the clouds covering the sun
Rain droplets start to fall
I take a deep breath
The ocean air files my lungs - finally releasing all the sadness that was once there
