Neptune is a former kittypet turned stray turned warrior. He was a rescue cat, blind as a bat and sickly. But he had spunk, he didn't want to be kept inside all the time, he was sick of being babied by the two-legs and the other cats in the house. So one day he found and open window and ran. He was found as a youngin by the former leader Pebblestar. While training to be a warrior, he befriended Lynxstar, then known as Lynxfur, over their kittypet heritage. Despite FallClan having the rough terrain of the rocks, river, and the main waterfall and cave, he was able to adjust well and prove to the others he could thrive here.
