"No!" Coac shouted from the hill. Corvax raked at the side of the cliff, slipping lower and lower struggling to get ahold of a rock or a large clump of dirt. Corvax hit a sideways tree and was able to hold on. Coac jumped down to the tree to help Corvax. She grabbed his scruff loosely and then slipped. Her chin hit the tree trunk on her way down, cracking her mirror. The fall broke her ankle. She set down Corvax. The wolf pup looked up and smiled. "We've got some work to do!" Coac said as she painfully walked on.

Slowly Coac walked back to the kingdom. She managed to get to about a mile out, then she couldn't walk farther. She dragged herself over to a spiderweb and made it into a bandage. It wasn't optimal but it would do. Corvax waited patiently. They stayed there for a night before walking the rest of the way back. There she was able to get a proper bandage. After about a month, she didn't need it but she had started to like it and didn't want to give it up. It was soft and comfortable. It kept her leg from getting hurt again so she kept it. (207)
