Primals are the original species of the felidus genus. These ancestors possessed three jewels and relied
more on their strength rather than the magic within their jewels. Their bodies were more than double the size of their
modern cousins, with muscle to take down prey larger than themselves.

Despite the misconception that they were lawless beasts, they had a rigid hierarchy similar to their descendants.
They lived in small tribes ruled by an Alpha- who possessed a specialized jewel and scars that demanded respect.

Cubs born with the Alpha jewel were automatically considered to be heirs to the throne of their tribe, although they
still must prove themselves to their brethren as the rightful leader.

In early Spring, Primal tribes were discovered in few remaining numbers carrying out their seasonal migration in order to
evade the yearly freeze of their homeland.

Over the distant horizon, multiple figures appear. Tall, powerful creatures with rippling muscle beneath their pelts. Fangs larger than the bodies of kits glinted in the sunshine and a pair of eyes bore down upon the tribe settled upon the plains. Hackles among the Simas were raised and jewel guards were held high in preparation to defend themselves as the larger creatures stepped down the hill towards them. A tribe-like amount followed behind the massive chief until they came nose to nose with the Simas' tribe chief. Their appearance always felt unnerving, like they were about to suffer some horrible atrocity at the claws and jewels of these monsters...

but once again, it's softened.

" Where are your nearest Springs, Tribal Chief? " Grumbled the Primal chief, staring down at them. " If this is our 'warm welcome', you might as well point us in the right direction. "

Primal Migration 2020

Each year, during the Spring or Summertime, Simas' ancestors travel from their part of the globe as it begins to freeze over to join their modern friends for the warm weather. It's a casual time where the Primals may appear over the next month and, along with them, their stories of revolution and elders.

- There are three jewel types: Novice [C], Warrior [UC] and Alpha [R]. The warrior rank is not to be confused
with the modern Warrior jewel.
- Their tribal behavior is similar to the modern subspecies, which means they have multiple warriors, an alpha, several
commmoners at least and a Shaman.
- The jewels are unique to Primals and cannot pass to Simas.

Artist Rules;;

- Each artist may make only one Alpha, which can have up to 3 rare edits and/or 1 legendary edit.
> Note, Alphas typically have scarring one way or another for being able to work their way to the top despite being born
with the jewel. Scarring isn't required, however. Legendary and rare edits must be approved by the species owner.

- You must make two common (unedited) primals if you'd like to make an uncommon one, and two uncommon Primals before you can make a rare one.

- When designing a Primal, think about a more natural sort of theme. Their rarity bar should be blue for limited as that is between rare and legendary.

- Start from #01 as if this were any other event.

- Any board game should be done on Discord, and very few should be done. DM corviidae for permission and guide
on how to set it up.

- Edit lists, instead of each individual edit, will have "Primal Gene'' listed for their default edits. Any extra edits
must be listed individually.

- Honorable mentions will receive items special to Primals. There must be at least 2 honorable mentions per contest.
> You, as an artist, are responsible for pming the earnings to one of our three archivists: Vraska the Unseen, Gallifreyor Lepidopterologist.

> Each user has the chance to only win 1 legendary item.

Items possibly earned through honorable mentions and board games will be below. Rolls will be added soon.

Item rolls;

1-45 - common | 46-85 - uncommon | 86-98 - rare | 99-100 - legendary

Once the rarity is rolled, roll again by how many items of that rarity are here. If it's just one, you don't need to roll.

Mortar and Pestle
> [c] <
These bitter herbs can be ground into a fine powder and sprinkled over your Sima. It will take a couple of
hours for it to settle before you can use it.

Changes one color on your Sima's existing color palette. May be stacked to change more than one.

---

Elder's Pelt
> [uc] <
May you wear this pelt as proudly as the Primal itself did.

Gives your Sima a Primal mane.

---

Moss-covered Token
> [uc] <
A token smudged with dirt and laden with moss. While a Primal no longer would find it useful, such
treasures discovered reclaimed by nature would be an antique to them.

Attracts a Novice Primal. 3 can be stacked for a Warrior Primal, and 5 can be stacked for an Alpha. (MYO)

---

Trophy of the Warchief
> [r] | [L] <
A skull of a rival which had been proudly mounted in the Warchief's cave with a magnificent rack.

Gives your Sima either a rare set of custom horns, or a legendary set of horns. Rarity will be rolled by staff.
