They are rather harmless, actually, due to them only eating the small
micro-organisms and other small critters living in the lava or rocks.
Their fur is made of minerals and rock, actually, but it is extremely soft
and warm."

Gathering is something you are able to do if you want some things necessary for your Fluava demons to survive. Without food and lava (they'll die if they drink water.) they'll end up starving. No, they cannot die unless they come in contact with water or something they are completely allergic to. However, this doesn't mean that they need to sustain themselves in order to let them live happier.

You have the option to gather stuff if you want, and feed your Fluava demons, or not, but they'd become happier and have a higher chance of breeding successfully.

What? You didn't know that breeding could sometimes fail? Well, I guess now's the time to tell you. If you want to breed, you can,
its free, but there is a very low chance of creating an egg. Though, during February they have a higher chance to breed eggs,
its still very unlikely. So, with gathering, you will boost happiness around your Fluava demons and give them a higher chance to produce an egg.

Keep in mind that if you send a demon gathering, it wont be able to breed for the time its gathering. Maximum gathering time is 1 week, while the minimum gathering time is 1 day.

Gathering for 1 day = +5% happiness
Gathering for 2 days = +10% happiness
Gathering for 3 days = +15% happiness
Gathering for 4 days = +20% happiness
Gathering for 5 days = +25% happiness
Gathering for 6 days = +30% happiness
Gathering for a full week = +50% happiness
