I've started coloring one of these critters because I find them SO adorable and I really need to adopt one, myself! I have a suggestion, though.
To keep the entire critter in the same style, you should create layers with the feathers and their rarities, then allow the artists to hide layers they aren't using with each particular critter.

That would be a lot of layers, as well as the fact that their feathers are supposed to be unique both in placement and in their style. This contest doesnt only test someones design skills, but also their ability to compliment my line work with their own! This is important since they may have to put out edited adopts as well.

I will open up a DA group eventually, but until that point adopts will have to be on oekaki ^^'
