Leaves and Flowers

The eerie chill in your bones has already set you on edge. You shuffle, hoping that no creatures of the night come to haunt you. Apprehension stills you, sending shivers up and down your spine. A crack sounds from behind you. In that moment, no emotions can block out your immense fear as you turn. To your surprise, a dog with bony spikes sits. Her feet are covered in flowers and leaves. A small bat sits on her shoulder.

The weirdest part is, you already walked through the place she sits. And now that you think of it, it kind of looks like she is performing some kind of ritual, words forming on her muzzle. She mutters something under her breath before shaking her fur out. The bat arises into the air, it's screeches sounding in your ears. The dog runs. The leaves fly, flowers scatter. Distracted, you watch the leaves instead of the dog. When your eyes search for her again, she's gone.
