The Healing Tree

Once upon a time, there was a tree.
The tree was the happiest it could be.
But, there was a rumor, the tree had special powers.
One day, a little boy decided to go into the woods on a stroll.
He ran right past this tree and didn't notice anything!
"Come back here, little boy!" the tree called out.
The boy decided he was hearing things and walked on.
On the way back to his house, he tripped and fell over a branch.
His knee was bleeding!
"Little boy, will you listen to me now?" the tree called out.
"Wait, so I'm not crazy. Who said that?" the boy replied.
"It is I, the healing tree, and I will help your knee feel better. Come here, to my roots, and I will heal it for you."
The little boy dragged himself over to the tree's roots, hoping that his knee will be healed.
The tree pulled his roots out of the ground, holding a bottle of steaming blue water.
The tree poured the water onto the knee, and instantly it felt better!
"Wow, thanks healing tree! What can I do for you?" the little boy asked.
The tree put his roots back in the ground along with the magical substance.
". . . You know, all I really want is a friend. I'm really lonely out here in these woods." the tree replied.
"I'll be your friend!" the little boy answered in joy! He was happy to have a new friend.
The little boy and the tree stayed friends forever, sharing stories every time the little boy passed through the forest.
And of course, the tree was there to heal him, always.
