Comparing to the bad news that other people hear, hearing that your cat might have cancer seems somehow minor.
Still it feels like your heart is ripped out of your chest and that your hands are paralyzed.. it sucks.

It is no competition. Another's suffering being classed 'higher' does not negate your own. We recently dropped down to only one cat in the household. While there are heavier things that have happened, the loss of a pet is still devastating, and it never loses it's sting. Your pain is valid. All things must die, but still...

We hope your feline companion does well, and that peace can be found, no matter what comes to pass.

You still captured the pain that comes to one's chest when getting bad news. It's a good, and accurate representation of the physical and emotional side of it, giving it visual substance when words sometimes lack to properly encompass the entire feeling.
