The soft jingle of sweet Christmas bells chimed as the young calf made her way in a steady circle around the cactus, which was her only substitute for a tree, with a small ornament dangling from her mouth. She made sure not to knock over the mug of coffee on the ground in front of the Santa-styled hat that had been deposited there by the many boys and girls that had come to visit her, as she had been born on their grandfather's farm.
