Shading/Lighting Experiment

I cant shade ;n;
I don't know what im doing wrong...
I know how to for normal drawings but for editables I get so confused.
Could someone explain how they shade for editables?

HI I FINALLY GOT ACCESS TO THIS ACCOUNT AGAIN AFTER YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!! i don't think any of my friends are on here anymore..? but this is so nostalgic to me. i probably won't ever participate in the trading again, but i'll try to be around on the oekaki boards n maybe giving my stuff away in various ways<3

Are you using multiply and lighting layers? Create a new layer; On the bar that says normal, click it, and switch it to multiply for shading. Do the same with whatever kind of layer you want to use c:

This is now an editable! With my new shading skills I made it look better!
