Camelotl adopts

Postby mairon » Sun Jun 05, 2016 7:01 am

Hello, and welcome to Camelotl adopts!
Image
Now, you may be wondering, what is a Camelotl?
Camelotls are semi-aquatic creatures that are closely related to the amphibian family.
They have a slim bodily structure and have fur on most of their bodies- with the
exception of their heads, chest, and underbelly. Camelotls have two sets of 'ears', two
nose holes (breathe air), and one pair of gills on each side of their underbelly (breathe
water). They are omnivorous creatures, and are very fast runners. They are very reserved
as a species, and are known to be weary of humans but other than that, each Cam has
its own personality and behaviour.

What makes a Camelotl a Camelotl?

What makes a Camelotl a Camelotl?

Camelotls are very interesting species, but they have some features that make them different from all other species. Here are some of the traits seen in Camelotls throughout the past hundreds of years.
Image
Cheek Marking
All Camelotls have a marking on their cheek.
A Cam without his cheek marking is not a
Cam! Most commonly, Camelotl cheek markings
are circles, but on rare occasions they are
seen in different shapes such as squares, stars,
etc. The purpose of cheek markings is unknown.

Two Sets of "ears"
Though we are not sure if Camelotl can hear
with these attributes, they sure look like ears.
When threatened, Camelotl can flash their
ears up above or to the sides of their head
to make themselves look bigger. Cams are
about the size of a deer, so they are occasionally
preyed on by larger predators, in which case
looking bigger can be very useful

Tough Skin Patches
Camelotls are mostly fluffy, but they do have
parts of their body in which instead of fluff is
a tough, armour-like skin. This trait is found
in all Cams around the chest and underbelly
area. The purpose of these is to protect a Cams'
vital organs as well as gills, which are located
on a Cam's side-underbelly skin patch

Long Legs
Amazing runners, Camelotl are very leggy and
have very lean bodies. Occasionally, you will
find a rather out-of-shape Camelotl, but those
are extremely uncommon, and are rarely ever
seen around other Cams.
