Redline? :D

Postby Dorky Displeasure » Sat Oct 17, 2015 7:51 pm

Things I Need Some Help With:

-Eyes. I'm not great at eyes, and I'd like to see what people think would go well on this.
-Mouth Shapes. If i could have multiple options to think about/use, that would be wonderful <3
-Tips on coloring hair.

Thanks for any help!! :D

I made an eye tutorial to help ya~ and I might create a hair tutorial too, but not sure. But anyways everyone has their on styles of different things so maybe experiment and look up lots of tutorials and practice until you feel like you found one that is comfortable with your style.

The shoulders aren't that circular or short, either. Just look at a reference pic. Draw the neck a little bit thinner (only at the end), too.

When you start drawing a head, first draw a circle (o), then split it in 4 parts, the 4th part should be where the eyes are placed. Then, draw two lines, one that goes through the head vertically (I) and the other that goes horizontally (-). It should look like a plus (+). The vertical one should be slightly longer and end outside the circle (it's where the chin will be).

Tips: If you want an younger looking character, draw the face shorter.
You can copy&paste the "LINES" and the "SHAPE" of the eye, but WITHOUT the eye. JUST the shape, draw the eye afterwards or on a different layer (you can copy&paste the eye, but on a separate layer from the shape)
Draw 5 small circles (inside the big circle) that go from bottom to top. It let's you know where the mouth will be, the nose, eyes, forehead (should have 2 circles).
The lines where you drew the collar bone should be higher (go in front of a mirror, place you shoulders really forward, and you will see how to draw it) and not facing DOWNWARDS. The ends should face upwards, closer to the shoulder blades-
