Good morning ladies and gents! As you probably know, it is the time of year for one of Cottonwood Wild Horse Ranch's biggest events of the year. This is when that “Wild” in Cottonwood Wild Horse Ranch takes its part.
Has anyone heard of the
Extreme Mustang Makeover hosted by the
BLM Wild Horse And Burro and
Mustang Heritage Foundation? This event has not only presented itself huge in real life, but also here on CS! Want to be a part of it? Keep on reading!
Us artist will be making individual horses for each one of you. They are untouched, completely wild mustangs for you to gentle and train in a matter of 70 days.
We will be judging on the time and effort you put into your horse on a regular basis.
This is your opportunity to practice your art and writing skills, and will give you something to do over the summer!
What will you get out of training your wild mustang? Sponsors have kindly donated prizes to this years winner(s) of the MM, and CWHR will be rewarding you with many customs, breedings, and horses to add to your stable! This also gives you a perfectly good reason to learn all about horse training, care, and riding, so read up and tell me about what you have learned in your mustangs training story!
What do entries look like? The common entry would be regular art and/or stories of the process from meeting your horse for the first time, all the way to finishing its training by the end of the competition. You can tell us about your mustangs favorite things, its fears, track it progress over time on certain things, write about your training sessions, write about the time you spend around the stable, blog a little every day on the above, art of your horse doing things in this process, and anything else you want to do! Their is no limit!
Sign up sheets will be open from the 1st to the 21th of July (we will probably accept late entries). The horses will be revealed on the 22th, and you can start your entry immediately. Each individual horse will be unique, coming with its height, age, gender, and a simple fact about that horse to start you off in your stories. This fact could be a particular fear, a vice the horse might have, or something special that makes that horse stick out from the rest.
We are hoping, with the amount of time that you spend with your horse, that you will create a special bond with them.
You will have till the 30th of September to finish your training. I will start judging the day after, and will have the results up asap.
If you are up for this challenge, fill out the available form below, and remember to come and pick up your horse on the 22nd and start your training!
On the 22nd when your horse is revealed we will put a link to it next to your username on with all the entries. You can go to its page and fill out the form that will be waiting for you. When you have filled out the form the artist of the horse will add you to the drawing. You can press 'color in' and add accessories, tack, add a background, and edit their mane and tail! Please NEVER touch their coloring. If you do, it will be an immediate disqualification from the competition. After that, you have 70 days to spend with your mustang! Code word is
