The name of this population of "frostbiter" charminks is actually a misnomer; these friendly arctic canines travel in large groups like penguins do, huddling to stay warm, and are willing to accept nearly anything into their pack so long as it doesn't try to step out of its place in ranking. Living in northern cold regions - such as Alaska and Greenland - the frostbiters tend to spend a lot of time near human settlements and are a large help hunting during cold winters. Much like poodles and other water fowl retrievers, the extra plumage in vital joint locations allows for them to wade and swim through the near-freezing water without the cold getting to their skin. Despite an excellent hunting ability, frostbiters are known to hunt sparingly to preserve the resources they have.
