Welcome to Peryton Adopts. This species was created by Calix who very kindly gave me the species, so all credit goes to them for the beautiful lines.
Peryton's were lost in mythology as legendary creatures, their form consisting of a deer and a bird, until recently when they were discovered due to an increase in numbers which led them to migrate out of their mountain home. Though they can understand human speech they themselves communicate via a complex range of whistles, chirps and clicks. Socially they prefer to move in herds of varying size, rogues being very uncommon. Flight is available to these creatures, however they are unable to stay aloft for long distances, though they enjoy racing each other on both land and in the air. Peryton's are herbivores, their favourite food being fruits, nuts and berries, but for the most part they consume grass. Their coats can be varying shades depending on location as well as lineage. All of the species retain their antlers regardless of gender, though a small number have been discovered without, often decorating them with items they find and like. Peryton fawns are not as common to find as adults in their natural habitat but their numbers have been growing significantly now that they are able to live alongside humans without fear.

~ You may not breed nor design your own Peryton
~ You may not re-sell your Peryton
~ If you no longer want your Peryton then you should let me know by PM so he/she can be put back up for adoption
~ If you are banned from the adoptions then any Peryton you own will be put up for adoption
~ There is no current limit to how many you may own, however you may only win one Peryton per week
~ You are allowed to gift a Peryton to another user but only with my permission first (please PM me if you wish to do this)
~ You may not sell the design of any Peryton
~ A Peryton's gender is decided by the artist, unless it is a form requirement that you choose and can not be changed once decided
How to Adopt
Most Peryton can be adopted by filling out the simple form on their page. Forms may differ on what they require and will be decided by the creating artist. Art will never be mandatory and will be banned on some of the adoption pages so that those with varying skills will get a chance.
You may win a maximum of one Peryton per week, however, you're free to apply to as many as you like.
Breeding
Once you have two or more Peryton (or have a friend's permission to breed your Peryton with theirs) you may apply to breed them. Each artist will have their own page for breeding which can be found via the main thread, which will indicate when their slots are open. You may apply to breed your Peryton when ever an artists slots are open, but you can only have a successful breeding application twice per month, this is so that everyone gets an opportunity. There will always be two offspring and no more. Offspring markings will take into consideration both parents markings, as well as grandparents and so on. Offspring will take one month to grow from the day they are posted.
