I would suggest (re)reading the rules on the new topic. A few things have changed.
Ascentials are a species born with the ability to manipulate boundaries.
Child Ascentials start off with no abilities, but as they quickly become interested in the world around them, their unnatural powers begin to grow, and they begin to be able to manipulate a certain aspect of the world around them, let it be the border of hate and love, life and death, or anything in between.
Though they are often feared due to over exaggeration, an Ascential's ability is to manipulate, not to change. If an Ascential dies, or they give up on whatever they were doing, their changes will immediately collapse.
Adoptable Ascentials rely on you to choose the opposites they manipulate.
Appearance
Ascentials have a strong, swift, canine-like structure, with a rather feline face, large eyes, and bulky ears with tufts on the end. Their wings and tail are the most notable in their appearance. You could try to touch the flowing part of the wings and tail, but your hand would go right through the ink-like surface. The "ink" is supported by various skeletal-like shards that emit new ink and also keep the existing ink from drifting off. It's common to see Ascentials with vastly different shards, though they all seem to keep the same basic structure.
Children Ascentials
While children, Ascentials' shards have not grown in yet, leaving a smoke-like haze of ink where their wings and tails will be. This serves as a beacon to their parents as to where they are, but also as a beacon to hungry predators, so adult Ascentials are extremely watchful of their young. As they mature, their shards begin to grow in, giving their wings and tails more stability, and eventually the ability to fly with their new, fully-developed wings.
A child Ascential's job is to discover something that interests them in the world. Maturing Ascentials gradually bulk on more and more spiritual energy, and if a child does not find something to put the energy into, it can be dangerous to that Ascential and the people around them. Once a child has found something they like, they will begin to pursue it, learning its ins and outs, and... Eventually, yes, learning how to control it. This results in several Ascentials controlling various aspects of the world. Life and death, hate and love, freedom and captivity, anything that the Ascential was interested in. Though these powers can be over exaggerated, an Ascential's power is to manipulate, not to change. If they lose interest in what they were doing, their changes will immediately collapse.
Social
Ascentials are solitary creatures, mostly just tending to their own needs by themselves. However, once they find a mate, they will gush all their loyalty and determination into their relationship, finding out ways to be able to work together to keep their young safe, find more food, and just make everything more pleasurable in general.
After the children have been born, Ascentials either drift away from each other or keep their family going. It all depends on the territory, and of course, how much they love each other.
- The general rules, do not attempt to bribe staff, don't whine if you don't get an adoptable you'd like, be kind to others.
- Artists may edit the wings, tails, add on accessories, etc. The only thing I wouldn't like is physical mutations other than the wings and tail, unless it's for a special event of some sort.
- Don't ask for special custom adoptables. Of course, you can add on accessories and personalize the wings and tail, since that could be done with the adoptables normally.
- It's okay to have Ascentials with repeat abilities. It would be extremely hard to have unique abilities for each and every adoptable.

Some guidelines for artists:
- This was already included in the rules, but I'll mention it here anyway - You may edit the wing lines, tail lines, and add on accessories if you desire.
- If you're going away for a while, or aren't going to be on CS for another reason, please pm me. If you don't, I might assume that you've gone inactive, and also people will assume they can still ask for customs from you.
- When you become an artist, you will take responsibility for doing any customs people ask you to do, and also posting an adoptable once in a while.
- I may or may not ask you to do a "test" Ascential. This is basically a test to see how well you can design on the Ascentials lines. Keep in mind that you're not automatically accepted if I ask you to do this, it just means I'm considering you.
- I also like to offer advice and critique to artists - if you feel you cannot handle this, please do not become an artist.
