His mother abandoned him as an egg, so Spaki had to learn to fend for himself and survive in the harsh world. There, he met his best friend and future mate Firecracker who was also abandoned as an egg. Together, the two of them flew over oceans until they found a large Clan of dragons above the North East Mountains in the Island Loche, and live in a cave at the top of the snow-tipped peak Ember, a once active volcano now covered in snow.
