Postby mousefan101 » Sat Jul 28, 2012 10:31 am

I drew a blue bird based on this Image I know it isn't that good but I have to start somewhere. :) Tips on how to draw better are appreciated. Thankyou. :)

If you gave me tips you can now edit the drawing. (Just please do not sell it, or claim it as your own.)

maybe you could remove one eye and make it a bit taller? It looks great so far <3 =3

tips-
1. the bird is in profile in the pic, so you only show one eye
2. unless you're trying comic or manga, bird's eyes are dark colored with no whites of the eyes.
3. Have you tried layers? You can change one aspect (aka the eys) without changing the other aspect (aka the outline)
4. Try using different tools to shade- burn makes colors darker and dodge makes colors lighter. You can also put on a darker color and use the blend tool.

Thanks for the tips. :) I will make the changes right away. :) Also since the drawing is already drawn could I still make layers?

It's so cute!! I have some tips; maybe make it a bit taller, and use more shades of blue. In the picture, the bird has a white bottom, maybe do a splotch of white down there and use the blender tool to smooth it out?
