Hi there. I'm thinking about auctioning off a high value pet of mine, but there's a question I have that I'm a bit hung up on.
It's said here that the point of an auction is to outbid other players through editing your trade offer, but a lot of players who run auctions that I've seen have a rule about sending a bid through a trade ready to be accepted, rather than a suggestion. I haven't sent a suggestion trade in a while, either, so I kind of forget how they work. I thought the only person who was able to edit a suggestion trade was the person you send it to, and you if they send it back for you to edit again. Is that what auctioneers who get suggestion bids do? Or are you actually able to edit your suggestion from your end at any time, even if the auctioneer doesn't send it back?
Is it all about the nature of the auction you want to have? It seems more like people send one-time trades that the auctioneer ranks, rather than adding more to their bid as the auction progresses.
Thank you for any help. I'm sorry if I'm missing something obvious. ^^
Edit: I just went back in the thread, and my question pertaining to editing suggestion trades has been answered. I am still wondering about suggestion trades vs. trades ready to be accepted, though. The pet I intend to hold an auction for is in a locked group, so I think asking for suggestion trades would probably be best, seeing as bidders wouldn't be able to add the pet to my side. That's actually another question I have now: should I keep the pet in a locked group, or make it so potential bidders can add it to the trade? Would that just be a personal preference thing?
