So basically, this is a D&D fanclub! A place for everyone who plays D&D to hang out. I've never played before, but I'm about to start with a few friends and I thought it'd be a great way to meet other players and get advice!

I'm actually pretty new to the game; I played a one-off campaign and then immediately got pushed into co-DM'ing, haha. Hope you get to DM something soon, tangerines! It's super fun watching everyone react in fear and horror to what you throw at them, and doing the voices and worldbuilding and such, haha. It's nice CS is finally getting a DnD club!

Oo, fighters are fun! Someone else in my campaign plays one right now, and he gets crazy buffs to almost all attacks. It's really neat to watch (especially because it means the things that want to kill me are obliterated)! If I do DM I'd be afraid of giving everything away too quickly, haha. My face tends to be an open book.

Fighters are so fun, haha. I'm beginning a new campaign at level three (should be level two, but because I'm running the first session my character gets a boost so she can keep up with the others), and off the bat my character can optimally, if I roll well, do up to 31 points of damage. A dual-wielding eldritch knight on fire is a terrifying nightmare to square up against. xP

I've never played bard, but I've seen it be played (Critical Role cough cough) so that class sounds plenty fun too!

I think it's fine if you make faces and expressions while DM'ing? It might be a problem if they don't roll high enough and you have to lie/not tell the full truth about something, but campaigns can always be constructed so that doesn't happen, or it doesn't matter if they can see the dread/glee on your face, haha. You could even do some homebrewing and put some restrictions on checks or something; so if someone attempts an insight check and you make a face, no one else can just hop on the opportunity and what they saw in your expression to try to do an insight check as well.

Actually, I'm really curious; would it be interesting to put our character sheets up? :0 it'd be cool to see everyone's characters and such.

Hey! New people! Welcome along, I'll add you guys to the members list in a sec

I had my first game the other day, which was a lot of fun. In my party we have a half-elf rogue(Who flirts with everything, including a stone block), a Halfling fighter (who pickpockets everyone and tried to backflip off a balcony, resulting in a broken ankle) an elven ranger (who didn't do much bc his player had just woken up) and me, the Halfling bard who was the only one who really did anything.

Putting up character sheets would be cool!

Hey, I'm glad you enjoyed your first game! Those characters sound super interesting haha. What was the plot?

For our current game, not all the characters are hashed out yet, but out of the seven we have my character, an Aasimar fighter who just wants a break, a Kenku thief with a personality and mannerisms similar to a magpie, and a half-orc monk who's really sad that he gets bullied for his a) unorthodox race and class combination and b) his high voice.

Me and my co-DM have set up some really interesting NPCs, though, in my opinion; we've got a 10 year old druid that masquerades as (and insists they are) a beastmaster, a mildly clairvoyant tarot card/fortune teller who simply relies on his insanely high perception most of the time (and also looks and talks like a protagonist in a trashy romance, baggy, unbuttoned white shirt and all) along with the Ringmaster. The Ringmaster is just the Ringmaster. No one questions the Ringmaster.

We also have plans for goliath twin NPCs that are excellent acrobats and dancers, but we haven't hashed that out yet haha.

As for my character sheet! I usually create one online and also print one out and fill it in by hand before the start of the campaign or session. Seeing as we haven't started yet, I only have the online version, which is a bit unorthodox (created using MythWeaver). Page 1 and Page 2 are linked. c:

Ok kiddies, time for a vet to get in this mess (despite being 16 years old, eh heh...)

I got into this mess with Adnd, and have, suce, played and/or read through every single version since (except og dnd, because it looks cumbersome as heck.) personal favorite is 2 e, mostly because I’m a nostalgic lil kid. Also, glory to Gnolls, praise Yeenoghu.
