Bouncekit limps around the nursery. He was getting restless. The tabby tom and his littermates were 7 moons old with no mentor or apprentice name. "Featherstorm?" he asked his mother, "When will I be a warrior?"
Featherstorm looked anxious for once. "Erm, I think Ripplestar said today?" Bouncekit senced uncertainty in her voice but she was right. He heard Ripplestar call the Clan together. Finally... he thought with a sigh.
Featherstorm and Minnowleap's kits become apprentices. Ripplestar vvisits the moonpool= any cat please. Border patrol and apprentices train.

"food is becoming more scarce." chestnutstar spoke, briefly looking over at her mate and the new warrior cat that starclan had sent her. bristleclaw nodded in agreement and released a sigh. "looks like we'll have to start eating each other." leopardtalon mused, but his ears tilted back when chestnutstar and bristeclaw glared over at him. "it was a joke, don't worry. i don't like the taste of cat." he said weakly, giving a light chuckle. boy, these obsidianclan cats did not have a sense of humor.

brr, it's so cold!" newtpaw mewed, hopping out of the river and shaking his fur. hoppaw mewed in agreement and hopped out of the river after their training session. cloudwatcher gave a chuckle and smiled at the wet apprentices. "it seemed to wake you up, newtpaw. silvermoon was telling me that you looked ready to fall asleep. besides, even in this weather, we have to train." she added, giving a brief smile to silvermoon. the other mentor seemed amused to see newtpaw blush in embarrassment at the comment.

Leading yet another hunting patrol, Featherfur led is group quickly and silently over the rise and away from camp. Before long he'd separated his group into groups of two, as that always yielded the bet results. Brackenfrost and Reedwhisker broke off and moved for the western border, while Frogstep and Hollytuft continued dead ahead. Calling Tinytail with a twitch of his whiskers, the silver tom led them east.

Robinstar made quick steps to cross the territory and arrived at Moonpool before long. He made quick work of getting settled and touching his nose to the water. When he awoke in the fields of Starclan, he noticed that there was one more pelt than usual, silver-and-white and studded with stars. He also noticed that the other cats of Starclan seemed to be standing apart from her. Odd. "My clan thrives - we have more kits in the nursery than we know how to handle." He paused and chuckled, thinking about the absurd amount of kits wriggling around the nursery. "Five of them were born to rogues, but since their parents abandoned them, they are welcomed into my family." That brought up a wave of harsh whispers. Confused, Robinstar glanced around the crowd but received no answers. "Since we have so many kits, I worry that we won't have enough warriors to mentor them when they get older. I come asking that you send me a warrior."

Finchtuft hated hunting for herbs. Hated it with a burning passion. It reminded him that he was alone, that Rippleberry was dead and that five of the kits in the nursery were half clan. So with rage burning a hole in his chest, Finchtuft nosed through underbrush and slid around brambles, trying to find anything so he could get this damn search over with.

All four apprentices were buzzing with activity, jumping around camp and chattering among themselves. One of them had caught word that they were going to be taken to the large pond west of camp for swimming lessons. Pikefang was leading the lesson, seeing as he was the only one out of the mentors to have swimming experience. When the silver tabby in question appeared, they all rushed over. "When are we going?" Peachpaw asked with glittering eyes. "Can you really swim?" Owlpaw cut in, looking skeptical. Pikefang's lip curled. "We leave now - and of course I can swim, furbrain." He snapped, scowling deeply while the other three mentors watched in amusement. "C'mon, let's get our paws wet!" Foxbelly hooted from behind, sending the apprentices into a tither.

When Finchtuft arrived in camp, he went straight for the nursery. Before he even ducked his head into the den, complaints and high mewls filled his ears. "I came to check on R-" He caught himself quickly, cursing in his mind. "On the rogue's kits." Rainwhisker flashed him an exhausted look and a small smile, nodding to the kits in question. Eyes softening for the first time since Rippleberry's death, Finchtuft inched forward and nosed the five kits. "C'mon little ones, we're going to go on a little adventure." He purred, giving each kit a quick lick between the ears. "I want them to walk to my den - would that be alright? So I can get a good idea of how they're fairing." Rainwhisker gave him a soundless nod and laid her head on her paws. Poor she-cat was exhausted. One by one the little kits raised their voices in complaint, but slowly stumbled out of their nest. "Good job, all of you. Come on now." Finchtuft soothed, guiding them with his tail. It wasn't until they were halfway to his den that Pebblekit stumbled and fell. "I'm tired!" The little tom wailed, refusing to rise from his spot. Finchtuft was quick to pick up the kit by the scruff, mumbling cooes between the kit's fur. "Not much further, I have something for you all."
When they got to the den, Finchtuft quickly corralled the five kits into his nest and let them settle down. He ducked around behind the nest and hooked a piece of honeycomb in his claws. Then he spent the next minute or so making sure they weren't kicking at each other to get at the treat. Fennelkit was the first to look suspiciously at Finchtuft, letting his wide eyes narrow. "Who're you?" He demanded, unsheathing claws so tiny it was more adorable than threatening. Smiling slightly, Finchtuft settled down beside the nest and rested his head on his paws. "I'm Finchtuft, the medicine cat." Crowkit was the next to speak up, eyeing him skeptically. "What would a medicine cat want with a couple rogue kits?" She growled the word rogue. It clawed bitterly at his heart. "Well, it's my job to make sure everyone in the clan is safe. And you're all part of the clan." The kits didn't seem eager to believe him, but Ripplekit was watching him raptly, her bright eyes never leaving him. "Did you meet momma?" Pebblekit squeaked, looking nervous to peek his head above the nest lining and speak. Finchtuft's smile sagged, and his ears pulled back. "Yes, I knew your momma. Not - not well, since she was a rogue, but I knew her." That got their attention. "She was very kind, and I know that your momma loves you very much. It doesn't seem like it, but you'll always have family watching over you." He said gently, licking each kit between the ears. I'm your family now, little ones. He thought, his smile turning wistful.

[I wanted to continue what you had told me you had written before, if that's alright!]

Pearlstar and Pebbletrail were continuing their patrol, when all of the sudden they heard a large splash! from the water. Looking over with a confused look on his face, Pebbletrail asked Pearlstar, "So...is that like some huge bird that lives on your territiory? Perhaps one that likes to splash in water?"

Pearlstar flicked her tail on the top of his head. "Come on, you! We need to check out what that noise was, it could be a threat to the clan." she said with a slight hiss in her voice. Nodding back to his leader, the two of them raced to the water's edge, slowing down once they came across the beach grass. Flicking her tail along Pebbletrail's back, Pearlstar knew that her deputy didn't need to know any tail signs to understand that she meant to get into a crouch.

Sneaking up in a crouch, the two of them looked over the beach grass to and into the water. With a slight gasp, Pearlstar got out of her crouch and hurried over to the water's edge. A cat seemed to be in the water, not drowning, but obviously a little shocked and panicked. She put her front paws in the water and slowly waded out into the area near the strange cat. "Are you alright?" Pearlstar slightly yelled to the other cat, still advancing towards them. The strange cat turned around, whiskers with water dripping down from them and a slightly shocked face.

"I, oh, um..yes!" she shouted back, a little awkwardly. Despite what she had said, Pearlstar still camp up close to her and guided her back to the shore. The two she-cats shook their pelts, letting the water fly in every direction. Eyes closed, Pearlstar heard a whining noise from Pebbletrail. Oh, they must have sprayed him with some water droplets...oh well, he'll be fine.

"So, what exactly were you doing out there?" Pearlstar asked after she shook all of the loose water out, now grooming her pelt of the water that stuck to her pelt.

"Well, I had recently got a cut on my paw," she started, holding her paw up so that Pearlstar could see the gash, "And I had saw some cobwebs that were strung between some of those larger rocks out in the ocean, so I thought maybe if I wrapped them around my paw, it would help the bleeding stop." the she-cat's ears grew hot and her paws began to knead the sand as she explained the next part. "Well, uh, then I tried to reach it by just sticking my paws out, trying to balance myself. But you can obviously guess how that turned out." she meowed a little cheekily. "I fell, then you found me. I'm not injured, but I still wish I could've gotten those cobwebs." she bitterly added, glancing back at the cobwebs still strung between the rocks.

"Here," Pearlstar hastily replied, walking over to the rocks. She jumped on one of the rocks, then wrapped the cobwebs around her paw. Coming back to her group with an awkward wobble, she camp up to the she-cat and took her paw. Wrapping the cobwebs off of her own paw, then putting them around the stranger's paw, she stopped he bleeding from the wound.

"Wow, thanks! I'd love to know how to do that!" the stranger replied, shaking her newly wrapped paw.

"Well, if you'd like to join my clan, I'm sure you'd fit right in! I've formed a clan on an island a little ways from here, it's safe and will soon be full of other cats. We could use a medicine cat, a cat who'll help the injured and do much more for the clan. I think you'd learn very quickly, so would you like to join us?" Pearlstar asked, flicking her tail between herself and Pebbletrail.

The she-cat looked at them both, straight faced, then burst out into a loud purr. "I'd love to! I don't have any other family and it's getting a bit lonely going on my own. As long as you explain more to me later, I'd love to come with you."

"Wonderful! From this moment, I'll name you Webtuft, from your little incident with the cobwebs!" Pearlstar joyfully and jokingly told her, or Webtuft. "If you'd like, you and I can go look for some herbs, while Pebbletrail brings back some prey that him and I previously caught back to the camp." she offered.

"I'd love that, just tell me when you're ready to go." Webtuft responded.

Pearstar nodded her head to Pebbletrail, where then he set off to get the prey and deliver back to camp, then she and Webtuft headed off, looking for some herbs.

Cherryblaze winced as she rose from her nest in the medicine cat den. She was just about healed, but so much sitting still was causing the cold to seep into her bones. As she limped to the fresh kill pile, she saw Ashbreeze come racing back. "Troutstar!" she shouted, her voice high with panic. "I was hunting alone," she said it quickly in the hopes that she wouldn't get in trouble, considering she shouldn't really be out alone, "and I saw TumbleClan and EchoClan fighting! I think I saw a JinxClan cat too, and a few others. It's an all out war!" Troutstar's heart fluttered with panic as she and Silverwing quickly went to her den to discuss what to do.
"I think we should stay out of it," Silverwing remarked. "We may be allies, but we can pretend we didn't realize what was happening." Troutstar shook her head. "No, I refuse to sit by and watch our ally get attacked. Ashbreeze thinks more cats were on EchoClan's side, and I can't just sit by and watch them get destroyed. Besides, if we ever need help, TumbleClan might be more inclined to help if we helped them." Silverwing paused for a second, but relented. "It's your choice. I want to come, and you should too - perhaps Ashbreeze as well, since she knews where it is?" Troutstar nodded. "I'll bring Nutwhisker too." Silverwing twitched her ear. "Are you sure?" Troutstar nodded. "We've seen her fight. I know she won't back down at the sight of blood or violence." As they prepared to announce the battle patrol, Littleglow burst in. "Please let me go," he begged. "Why are you so eager?" Silverwing asked, confused. "There's no time to explain, but I need to go. Please," he meowed, and Troutstar looked back at her mate. "Fine, you can come. We'll discuss this later." They raced out, gathering the cats and fleeing to the border to help. A few other cats wanted to come, but Troutstar insisted that they stay behind and guard the camp in case of trouble. Silverwing also ordered a quick hunting patrol - it was leafbare, and they needed to hunt whenever possible.

This looks like a lot of fun!

Clan name: QuartzClan
General nature: reserved, slow to trust outsiders; friendly, playful.
Reputation: They have a reputation as being blunt, but also aren't afraid of small spaces. (Great for crowds) They also tend to be loud.
Territory: The QuartzClan camp lies in an abandoned quartz mine. There are small offshoots from the main cavern that serve as the dens, with the leader's den a little higher up with a small ledge out front, where they announce Clan meetings and business. The warriors' den sits close to the entrance tunnel, with the apprentices' den nearby. The nursery is hidden in the back of the cavern in a tunnel that appears to be too small for anyone to get through. The entrance tunnel is wide enough for about two cats to walk comfortably side-by-side, which makes it easy to defend in case of attack. The territory is generally grassland with sparse trees, where mice, voles, shrews, squirrels, rabbits, and birds can be found.

Hunting is the most important thing to QuartzClan because their camp is easily defended, but never let it be said that they can't fight. If in danger, they will fight to the death if needs be. They're great climbers and can jump high, but sometimes an apprentice (or, rarely, a warrior) will land wrong and dislocate or, occasionally, break something.
It's important that the medicine cats know how to fight in case they, too, are in danger, but not required.

Ivystar padded contently out of her den, looking around the camp. A smile spread across her face as she did so, imagining the wonderful clan that would soon be thriving here. But Ivystar knew that without other cats, there was no Clan. She had heard of a sacred place known as the moonpool, where cats go to speak with StarClan. Deciding that this was a promising place to begin her Clan, Ivystar set out on the long journey to the pool. Finally, as the sun began to sink below the horizon, Ivystar had arrived, exhausted and hungry. But her heart was fluttering with hope as she sank down and touched her nose to the frigid waters.

Tanglestep nodded seriously. Cricketpaw nodded as well, bouncing in excitement by her mentor's side. Robinstar had just finished explaining the new procedure for the young calico to become a warrior. Cricketpaw was a bit reluctant to spend five days on an island with Tanglestep, but he wasn't supposed to interfere anyways. "One of the medicine cats will accompany you, in case anything goes wrong," Robinstar mewed. Cricketpaw's head tilted in confusion as she thought that she saw Tanglestep's fur bristle just slightly in frustration. Robinstar, standing tall, padded to the medicine den. It had been two moons since she received the daunting message from StarClan, and nothing had gone wrong. Surely AspenClan would be okay. "I'll go!" Speckledpaw volunteered readily, jumping to his paws. Sootpelt smiled slightly, nodding. The spotted apprentice grinned brightly at his mentor's silent approval. "Do you really think this is the best idea?" Robinstar murmured to Sootpelt. "He can do this, even if he doesn't know he can. He isn't finished his training, but he's capable of more than he knows," the dark tabby mewed thoughtfully. Robinstar nodded slowly. "Speckledpaw, you know you can't talk to Cricketpaw until the last day," the leader mewed. Speckledpaw nodded, looking a bit dejected. Still, he thought, it's better than being friendless for five whole days. Once the three cats were ready, they mewed their goodbyes and swam the short distance to the small island in the lake.

The first day was rather uneventful. Cricketpaw was able to catch a mouse and a small vole, and she put together a flimsy makeshift nest from brambles and twigs. Late at night, she found herself staring up at the waning moon, unable to sleep. The apprentice decided to take a walk and familiarize herself with the island. As she wandered, she came across Tanglestep sleeping in what seemed to once have been a fox den. She scurried away quickly, afraid that her mentor might wake up and think she was spying on him. "Speckledpaw? You're still up?" she mewed cautiously into the night as she spotted the mostly-white pelt. Speckledpaw whirled, around, surprised, until he saw his friend. "Hi, Cricketpaw," he mewed with a friendly smile. His pale eyes seemed to glow in the dim light of Silverpelt. "It's a beautiful night," the she-cat murmured thoughtful, a smile playing at her lips as she thought of what she might say next. "This is pretty unusual... It's just the two of us, alone on an island, and Tanglestep is fast asleep," she mewed, her amber eyes drifting to the sky. Speckledpaw nodded cautiously, wondering what turn the conversation might take. Cricketpaw took a deep breath, steeling herself. "Speckledpaw... Ever since I met you, we've been close friends. I... don't really know how to say this, but... I want to be, maybe, more than friends?" she mewed carefully, her eyes wide with anxiety and hope. Speckledpaw was taken aback and he fumbled for words. "I know you're a medicine cat apprentice, but I can't deny what I feel for you," Cricketpaw continued, "And I know you feel the same for me. I..." Her voice trailed off, unable to utter the simple words. Speckledpaw shook his head quickly. "Do you know what you're asking of me?" he whispered. Now it was Cricketpaw's turn to be taken aback, and her heart plummeted. "You're telling me to give up my rank, to go against my beliefs... I can't," he mewed earnestly. "But... but surely you feel this too?" Speckledpaw lowered his head, shaking it once more. "You're my closest friend, Cricketpaw. But that's it," he meowed, his voice weak with sadness. "I'm so sorry." Cricketpaw blushed wildly beneath her pelt, forcing herself to laugh lightheartedly. "This is so embarrassing," she muttered, tears stinging her eyes as she fled back to where she was sleeping.

"Hello, Cricketpaw," Tanglestep meowed coolly, appearing seemly out of nowhere behind Cricketpaw, who jumped up from her hunter's crouch. "You're not supposed to be interfering," she mewed shakily, her heart pounding as she wondered if her mentor had seen her with Speckledpaw two nights ago. "Be quiet and I'll make this quick," Tanglestep hissed. Before Cricketpaw could even mew in confusion, he knocked her easily to the ground so that she was on her back. "What are you doing?" she meowed, fear evident in her voice. "If you insist on an explanation, you've never been anything but annoying. You'll be of no use in my Clan, and this is the perfect chance to get rid of you." Instead of asking what he meant by "my Clan", Cricketpaw simply shrieked in terror at the sight of his outstretched claws, her voice resonating through the trees. The piercing cry was loud enough even to reach the camp, where Robinstar quickly alerted Sootpelt and Brambletooth, and made their way to the island as fast as they could. "Foxdung! You worthless idiot!" Tanglestep hissed. He picked up the rapidly approaching scent of Speckledpaw and hastily swiped his claw across the young she-cat's throat. The warrior threw her body onto a sharp, jutting rock just as Speckledpaw appeared. "Cricketpaw!" he gasped, rushing to the apprentice. "I don't know what happened! I was watching her, and then she tripped on some brambles and her neck must have hit the rock," Tanglestep lied, fake worry dripping from his mew. Cricketpaw's eyes opened wearily, getting wider when she saw Speckledpaw. She tried to speak, but her throat only gurgled helplessly. "She's alive!" Speckledpaw breathed, wanting to weep with relief. Tanglestep's tail lashed and he gritted his teeth in anger. "I'm here, what happened," Sootpelt meowed breathlessly, panting with exhaustion and his pelt dripping wet. He didn't even need an answer, however, immediately seeing Cricketpaw lying wounded on her side. Robinstar padded up beside him, her sides heaving as she breathed heavily. "Will she live?" the leader asked, voicing the question they were all thinking. Sootpelt stood up from examining Cricketpaw. "Her wound is too deep..." he mewed, his voice cracking with grief. Speckledpaw's eyes widened in horror. "No... you can't let this happen! You're a medicine cat! Do something! There must be something we can do," Speckledpaw pleaded. "I'm sorry, Speckledpaw. No herb could fix this damage," Sootpelt meowed calmly. He tried to touch his side comfortingly to his apprentice's, but was pushed away. Robinstar padded forward, her eyes full of sorrow. Cricketpaw saw her and flailed helplessly, aching to warn her of Tanglestep's doing. But her voice only gurgled, and Sootpelt's gray paw pushed her down, willing her to stay still. "I ask my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has learned the warrior code and given up her life in the service of her Clan. Let StarClan receive her as a warrior. She will be known as Cricketleap," Robinstar announced to the small congregation of cats. It was silent as she gently removed the catkin anklet. Speckledpaw padded forward, pushing his nose into Cricketleap's cheek fur. "Me too," he breathed, his eyes clouded with pain as he stood up. Cricketleap met his gaze for a brief moment, understanding passing between them before she took her final breath.

"Of course we're telling the apprentices! You're being ridiculous, honestly," Tanglestep scoffed. Brambletooth frowned, his eyes still crowded with grief for the young she-cat. "It's just that... with Cricketleap's death, the apprentices may be afraid to even step foot on this island," Brambletooth mewed. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but Cricketleap deserves to be remembered," Sootpelt interjected. "Besides, it wasn't the island's fault Cricketpaw died. It was her own clumsiness that killed her," Tanglestep argued harshly. "It's Cricketleap," the deputy reminded him. "I'm just trying to protect our future warriors. I don't want them to be terrified of this place," Brambletooth implored. "If you want to keep them safe, tell them was happened so they'll actually take their time and be careful," Tanglestep spat. Robinstar and Speckledpaw were both silent. The apprentice was overwhelmed with grief and pain, and the leader was deeply troubled, thinking of the ominous prophecy. "We'll tell them what happened," Robinstar murmured absently. "They need the warning." Her eyes flashed with fear. "Let's bring Cricketleap back. Quickly. I have to go to the moonpool..." Robinstar meowed urgently.
