The letter, arriving on an otherwise normal day, was written with swirling script. The parchment looked old, surprisingly sturdy as you unrolled it. You're not sure who would have sent a scroll in this day and age, but the contents are...intriguing to say the least.

The author, a person who has signed themselves off as "The Host", had invited you to their manor. Something about it felt a bit...cliche, though you aren't one to turn away a night of fancy eating and dancing. Especially one that's free, and will last multiple days. The Host was a bit vague about how long you would be there, but you've not got anything better to do with your time and it's free! Although you'll be attending with a bunch of strangers, you still think it'll be a fun week.

What you didn't realize, was that this party...might be your last...


This is a game of Mafia!

Mafia, also known as Werewolf, is a social deduction game where an uninformed majority (the Town) seeks to locate and eliminate members of an informed minority (the Mafia). Mafia members know of each other’s identities and are able to communicate among themselves (hence the informed minority).

Games are generally separated into two phases: the Day Phase, where players discuss amongst each other and collectively decide on a player to eliminate; and the Night Phase, where the Mafia decide on a victim to kill.

The town aims to eliminate all mafia members to protect their peace before the mafia manages to outnumber them through their murderous ways.


This game is built for beginners, players who either have never played forum mafia or have not played it in a long time. However, since this is also (as far as im aware) one of the first of its particular brand of mafia games on CS, I am absolutely welcoming those who have been playing recently on other sites.

Let this game serve as a welcome to forum mafia to CS, and let's have a great time!

This thread will serve as both signups and gameplay.

For specchat / individual player channels (for submitting actions) we have a discord, but if you are not able to use discord just let me know and we'll come up w/ a workaround

This game follows the Friends and Enemies setup.
This is non-rp, open setup, for 13 players:

Roles
7x Vanilla Townies (Guests)
3x Masons (Manor Staff)
3x Mafia Goons (Party Crashers)

Mechanics

1. Daystart
2. Masons have the ability to talk at night amongst each other.

Win condition:
When all Mafia (Party Crashers) are gone.

Abilities:
GUEST OF THE MANOR - You have no abilities at night.

Welcome, <Player>! You are Mason (Manor Staff)

Win condition:
When all Mafia (Party Crashers) are gone.

Abilities:
FACTIONAL - During the night phase you may talk with your partners.
FACTIONAL - You are confirmed town to your partners, and them to you.Your partners are <Player> and <Player>

Welcome, <Player>! You are Mafia Goon (Party Crasher)

Win condition:
When all Town-aligned are gone.

Abilities:
FACTIONAL - Every night, you may kill one player of your choice.
FACTIONAL - You enjoy a factional private chat with fellow mafia.

All Factional Chats will be provided in a method that works for all members of the faction. When signing up, please remember to choose which option(s) work best for you in case the randomizer picks you for a Mason or a Mafia.

1. No editing or deleting posts. You may ask for permission to do so.

2. No screenshotting, copy and pasting, taking a picture, or any action that involves recording down game related pms between mods and players. You may only paraphrase.

3. You are not allowed to talk about the game outside this game, be it in pms or other places.

4. Please follow the CS code of conduct/ forum guidelines while playing this game.

5. Days last 24 hours and Nights last 24 hours. Lockdown time is 7:30PM CST. If you need this altered to your timezone, contact ArtMajor and she will check!

6. No posting after the lockdown post is posted. Conversation may resume once the flavour text and results have been posted. All votes and actions will not be accepted after lockdown.

7. Mods’ word is final.

8. Players must post in the discussion thread at least 2 times during each day phase. If they fail to do so, they will receive a warning and has to post at least 1 post in the following night phase. If they still fail to do so, they will be replaced or unable to use their ability.

9. Please vote in the provided eliminate thread. Only votes there will be counted.

10. Submit all your actions through individual discord channel or dm w/ me

11. Please don't post in the thread after you are dead or if you are not a player. I will provide some form of spectator chat and popcorn and lemonade for you after your death if I am able. (See options for mason/mafia chats)

12. Mafia is a game of deception. People may lie and things may get heated over arguments. However, when arguments starts to break out, please take a deep breath, and remember it's just a game. I’ll step in if serious things break out.

13. Have fun. This is the most important rule of all.

14. Any breaking of the rules above may cause replacement/modkill.

15. Please read the rules before you play.
