❀ The Court of Gardens ❀

They say everything important starts with a dream. Dreams are our subconsciousness
trying to reach out to us, to reveal truths hidden from our waking mind. But the truth
is that dreams are just memories. Memories of forgotten knowledge fighting not to
be lost.

Some call their memories a palace, pieces of a building remembered by walking through
one's mindscape, but to others, memories are more of a garden. You can feel the softness
of a flower's petal, smell it's sweet sent. You can see it's beauty unfurled for the world, and
some are edible, allowing you to taste their flavor. And when the wind blows, you can hear
the wind caressing the buds, a garden is truly the place where all memories reside.

This is the truth of the Court of Gardens. Their Garden is not just their home, it is a record
of their lives. Those that live carefully tend to the blossoms, keeping the garden safe for
those yet to come, while those that have fallen are buried beneath the flowers, the blossoms
showing the state of their spirit in the afterlife. The cats of the Garden Court know themselves
as keepers of truth, history, and knowledge. The blossoms bloom eternal, and the weeds do rot.

❀ The Court of Blossoms and the Court of Rot ❀

The Garden Court's belief system. Those that die are buried within the garden, location
depending on their rank in the clan. A seed is planted by their family members, and knights
keep watch as the flower grows. Once the bud blossoms, it is believed that the cat's spirit
has been welcomed into the Court of Blossoms (Starclan). However, if the bud rots, fails
to grow for any reason, or withers after having blossomed, it is believed that the spirit has
been corrupted and moved on to the Court of Rot.

Once a cat's spirit has been a member of (either) court for long enough, they become either
a Nymph (Blossom Court) or a Nosoi (Rot Court). These are powerful spirits that are able to
cross back into the mortal realm, and deliver messages from the courts above. As a Nymph
or Nosoi, a spirit's form is powerful but incredibly fragile. However, if they are able to survive
long enough in this phase (which requires sacrifices, prayers, and even a short period of
possession) then a spirit can return to their courts as Gods and Goddesses of Nature and Rot
respectively.

Cats should beware when aiding spirits, as Nymphs and Nosoi are not the only celestial beings
that may walk the mortal plane, and appearances may be deceiving...

❀ Knights of the Petal
- these are the fighters, the
hunters, those who patrol and
protect the border. they are the
day-to-day warrior.

❀ Knights of the Thorn
- elite warriors, those who protect
the heart of the camp, the kits,
the elders, and the court. In charge
of teaching kits the way of the court.
May go on special missions, or oversee
a Petal patrol

❀ Squires
- those in training. a cat will typically
remain a squire until they are 18 moons,
with exception to those that are 15
moons or older if they perform a
great feat

❀ Sprouts
- kittens that have been weaned.
they're raised by the Thorns so that
their parents can return to normal duty.
unweaned kittens are typically unnamed
and are only referred to as "Seed of [Parent]"

❀ Roots of the Court
- those who are too old to serve as knights.
instead, they now lend their experience
to the crown by serving as the advising
council.

that are too "minor" for the crown, as
well as the day to day management
of the court

-has the most interaction with the
"commonfolk" is literally the medicine

- medicine apprentice renamed

❀ Lord / Lady of the Thorn
-oversees knights, in charge of
security / making sure everyone is
safe, makes sure training is up to
standard, etc
