I never slept in my own bed when I lived with my parents because I was scared of the dark and instead slept with my sister.
Even in high school because I did so for so long.

I have noticed that it seems to be a cultural thing as well! My husband didn't really sleep on his own until he got into his mid-late teen years. He is Hispanic, and his whole family practically bed shared! Haha. I find it a bit shocking, but I come from a different culture, so that may be why.
