Powdersun walked silently to the moonpool, thinking. Who would she ask for? She had never really wanted to be leader, but that was how she had ended up. Graystar had asked her to start the clan again, so she had felt obliged to listen. She had deeply respected the cat. Everyone from her clan was likely dead. Her mother, her brothers, her mentors...

She barely noticed when she had reached her destination. She felt like a heavy weight was attached to her, and she felt as though she was choking. Once she had found her voice again, she whispered, "I am Powdersun of FlowerClan. My clan is gone. If it is your wish, I will start a new clan called StemClan. I would like a deputy to lead beside me and help me."

Ivystar stood on the Great Cliff overlooking the camp, the chilly leaf-bare breeze ruffling her fur. "Let all cats gather beneath the Great Cliff for a clan meeting!" she yowled, her voice echoing off the stone walls. The Clan was assembled beneath her within minutes. Cloudkit and Finchkit had just been groomed, and their tails were lashing with excitement. The new cat stood off to the side, her eyes filled with both anxiety and eagerness. "Finchkit, please come up to the Great Cliff," Ivystar said, her voice glowing with pride for her kit. Finchkit happily obliged, climbing onto the cliff as fast as she could. "Finchkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Finchpaw. Your mentor will be Appleclaw. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you." Appleclaw padded up to the cliff and touched noses with his new apprentice. Finchpaw leaped off the cliff and walked back into the crowd with her mentor. "Now for our next ceremony. Cloudkit, please come up," Ivystar hoped her concern wasn't showing through her voice. Her kit still hadn't spoken a word since the incident in the tunnels. Soon Cloudkit was standing next to her, his paws shaking in anticipation. "Cloudkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Cloudpaw. Your mentor will be Brightsky. I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you." Brightsky bounded up to the cliff, clearly shocked but pleased all the same. Ivystar hoped that Brightsky would be a good match for Cloudpaw, perhaps her cheerful personality would help Cloudpaw get over the trauma he had experienced. "And lastly, it is time for a new cat to join our clan," Ivystar was about to instruct the new cat to climb onto the cliff, but she was already climbing up and was soon standing beside Ivystar. "You were a loner who we found roaming outside our territory. We expect you to adapt the ways of our Clan, and we will fully welcome you as a member of SilentClan in return. From this day on, until you have received your warrior name, you will be known as Shadepaw. Your mentor will be Coaldust. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you." Ivystar watched as Coaldust came up and gently touched noses with Shadepaw, who looked beyond happy. "Finchpaw! Cloudpaw! Shadepaw!" The Clan yowled. Ivystar joined them, turning her nose upwards and yowling the names to the stars. She then sat and watched the Clan disperse, returning to their everyday activities. Whitewhisker had climbed up beside her, and his eyes where shining with pride. "Our little kits are all grown up," he said. "Wonder how much trouble Finchpaw is going to cause before she becomes a warrior," Ivystar joked. Whitewhisker purred in response, but there was a sadness behind it. He was just as worried about Cloudpaw as she was.

"Can we tour the territory? Please!" Finchpaw begged, bouncing around Appleclaw. "Great StarClan, I can already tell you're going to be a handful," the warrior joked. "But yes, we can take a tour. How about you go get Cloudpaw and Shadepaw and have them come too?" he suggested. Finchpaw brightened at the idea. "Great idea! I'll go find them," the apprentice dashed off. "Good luck controlling her for the next six moons!" Pepperfrost meowed as she passed by. "I'm not sure I'll be able to!" he replied. Soon, Finchpaw had returned with Cloudpaw, Shadepaw, Brightsky, and Coaldust. "We're all here? Great, let's go!" he turned and walked briskly out of the camp, the apprentices right behind him. Once they had stepped outside the tunnel, Finchpaw gasped beside him. "It's so big out here!" she exclaimed. Appleclaw snorted and butted her playfully with his shoulder. "Don't act like you haven't been out of camp before. You sneaked out all the time as a kit!" he remarked. "Yea, you guys did a pretty sucky job of keeping me in," she replied, smiling mischievously.

whole clan chants at the same time > using bold

after the gathering everybody was happy and excited but when the first snowfall of leaf-bare came things got hard. now that snow is everywhere sedgeclan is struggling to survive. willowstar woke up from a deep sleep and she decided to call a clan meeting. she had to make sure her clan were still confident during this leaf-bare. she padded up onto the highrock to call a meeting. "let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather here for a clan meeting!" she called. willowstar's voice rang clearly and loudly across the camp. all the cats poked their heads out of their dens and padded over. stormdapple and crowfur padded side by side chatting about their kits. hawknose came out with his fur all spikey like he just woke up. eaglestorm was up in a heartbeat and was already sitting by sedgerock. and fluffyberry and maplewhisker were padding out of the warriors den so close together their fur was almost brushing the other one's. fluffyberry was whispering something to maplewhisker but it was so quiet nobody but maplewhisker heard. "they seem close. and fluffyberry only ever talks to me too? they definetly are close." willowstar thought. when everyone was sitting down near the rock willowstar started. "leafbare has come and prey is getting scarce but we are strong and we will survive!" the sedgeclan leader meowed. "how about my kits! they are gonna come during the hardest time!" stormdapple nervously called out."stormdapple, we have a well trained medicine cat to pull us through it. dont worry. we are sedgeclan and we will survive!" willowstar told the queen. suddenly the whole clan started to cheer. "sedgeclan, sedgeclan, sedgeclan!" they chanted. willowstar was proud to have such a brave and loyal clan.

"time for patrols!" maplewhisker called, straight after the meeting. "brackenheart went herb picking so we need some cats to stay behind in camp with stormdapple. i want eaglestorm doing so." he quickly decided. "got it, maplewhisker!" eaglestorm agreed. "thanks. fluffyberry will hunt with me and hawknose and crowfur can go on a border patrol" he finished. fluffyberry nodded her head and maplewhisker couldn't help but let out a quiet purr. he was excited to go out hunting with the pretty she-cat. the cats of sedgeclan soon split up into their patrols and willowstar decided to go to the moonpool. the clan needed more cats to catch prey and to fight for the clan with their lives. once willowstar was at the end of the sparkling pool cave she saw the moonpool. "starclan, please give me a cat or the clan who will be brave and loyal or mother the future warriors or heal the clan or even bring their elderly wisdom to us." the sedgeclan leader wished before she lapped some water and fell into a deep sleep.

Spiderstar watched the the two cats as they continued their way back to camp. He sort of liked the calico, she had the same views as he did. She was harsh and proud and frankly he liked the sinister vibe she gave off. Her younger sister Swiftfoot was quiet, she wasn't too soft either which was a bonus as soft cats wouldn't make it in this clan.

"Briarhawk, I would like you to meet Echoflame and Swiftfoot." Briarhawk smiled at the two and greeted them. "Welcome the both of you, I will show you to the warrior dens." Echoflame and Swiftfoot greeted him back, then followed him towards the warrior dens. "Echoflame!" The she-cat stopped and turned to look at him, an impatient look on her face which was brave considering who she was addressing. "Would you like to go on a patrol with me when I get back from the moonpool?" Echoflame grinned and her tail lashed for a second. "Maybe, I will think about it." Spiderstar raised an eyebrow at this and she gave a small laugh before turning and walking way.

Spiderstar headed towards the moonpool once again, the moonpool was located a bit far away but not desperately far, mostly a days walk and it was located under a small waterfall. He didn't mind the walk and found it actually a good head clearer.

Once at the moonpool he sat down and sighed lightly. "Starclan, I ask for a medicine cat." He then curled up and sleep took over him.

Then Steamheart came back from hunting he put it into the pile. Quickly walking up to Emberstar, giving a flick from his tail. Ember star smiled at the Gray cat "I'm going to the moonpool." She flicked her tail walking out of the leaders den as Steamheart sat down in it and started to lick his paw.

Emberstar walked out off the clan to go too the moonpool as she got there she sat down ans sighed looking at the sky.

{Emberstar has gone to the Moonpool and asked for a deputy!}

after greystar had showed sootshade around, the deputy seemed to have gotten comfortable around in the territory. "look, greystar!" the black tom meowed. "the birds have made nests!" the leader looked up, and saw birds flying from tree to tree gathering sticks. glancing at his deputy, it seemed the cat was lost to the world of the birds, staring at them eagerly.

"aren't they adorable, making their own houses to live in?" sootshade smiled, not taking his eyes off the birds. greystar just looked at him. "yeah," he said sarcastically, "it would be amazing if we did that too," he scoffed, and kept pacing on throughout the territory.

"come on," greystar meowed, "I haven't even showed you the best part yet!"

sootshade tore his eyes away from the birds, following right behind his leader. "what is it? greystar? what's the best part? what is it?" the younger cat was excited about pretty much anything, it seemed. can't he just shut up for one moment? greystar thought silently to himself. the deputy bounced towards him, landing on top of him. their muzzles were mousetails away from each other.

"show me!"
"fine, fine. but you have to promise to be quiet."

sootshade let go of greystar, standing up immediately. "no problem!" he puffed out his chest and looked very mature. "good," greystar puffed, standing up. "follow me." the two cats paced down to the riverside, and when they arrived greystar gave sootshade a serious look and put his tail on his mouth. "shh." sootshade didn't move a muscle as the leader stepped forward towards the river. the leader studied the water for a little, until he promptly pulled a fish out of the flowing river. sootshade's eyes went from dull to astonished.

"woah! how did you do that? will you teach me? that was amazing!" sootshade went on for the entire trip home. and then some more.

"I'll be leaving to the moonpool now. you'll be fine, yes?" the leader meowed. his deputy looked at him firmly. "of course I will!" he smiled, and lapped at his paw as to show his leader there was nothing to worry about.
greystar looked at him for a few moments, and then he slipped out of camp on his journey to the moonpool.

the leader's paws were sore when he finally made it there, just in time for sundown. he circled the pool of water, the soft ground comfortably shaping around his paws. when he reached the pond, he collapsed next to it, falling asleep at once.

"Then by the power the power of Starclan I present you with your new name. From now until you join Starclan, you will be known as Appleblaze. Ashley, do you promise to protect Hopeclan with your life?"

"I do!" she beamed.

"Then by the power of Starclan I present you with your new name. From now until you join Starclan, you will known as Cinderpaw. I will be your mentor. Meeting dismissed!" He felt a burst of thrill course through his blood and he cheered the names of his new clanmates. "Now, can you go hunting again Nightglow and take Appleblaze with you? I'm taking Cinderpaw for a training session."

"Of course Mousestar." she walked out of camp with Appleblaze following.

"Eek! A training session! Let's go!" she sprinted out into the forest. Mousestar chased after her with a chuckle.

Cloudstar narrowed his eyes at the new tom "I am the leader and I will announce your arrival." and with a disapproving gestured from the medicine cat he leaped up onto the high rock and yowled "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the highrock." It was followed by another coughing fit, but this time instead of just wheezing Cloudstar stumbled ever so slightly, only Archpool noticed of course as the others came out of their dens. They clearly were not happy about leaving the warmth of their dens but must have learned to obey the bossy commands of the leader. Cloudstar took a large breath before continuing "I want to introduce you to Archpool, he is the clan's medicine cat sent by Starclan. You will show him the respect he deserves and obey his wish."

As soon as Cloudstar took a second to get his breath Archpool spoke up "That includes you, now please go get some rest before you-" just then Cloudstar collapsed. This only caused a sigh from the spotted tom "You, help me get him to my den." he ordered Bouldershade. Luckily this tom did not argue with him and did as he said. Once Cloudstar was settled into a nest he gave further instruction "I need someone to keep him warm while I go and try to find some herbs, I hope the snow hasn't wilted them all yet." he meowed before padding back out of camp.

Archpool had been out for some time now and Bouldershade was growing anxious. He was leaning against Cloudstar to keep the tom warm and Fawnwillow was helping by leaning against Cloudstar's other side. They both watched as Owldust paced back and forth inside the medicine den. "Owldust, will you please hold still, you are not helping that way." Bouldershade mutter to the molly.

It was Fawnwillow that spoke up "It might actually be helping, the den is warm now." she meowed to the deputy in her quiet voice. Owldust gave her a look of thanks before continuing her pacing, waiting for Archpool to return.

Bouldershade did not argue with Fawnwillow "I guess you are right, I wish Archpool would hurry up." Just then the medicine cat dipped into the den, herbs in his mouth. The tom didn't stop as he put the herbs in a pile and moved over to Cloudstar, examining him. The leader had a runny nose and was wheezing and at times it seemed as if the tom stopped breathing.

"He doesn't look any better and he is still unconscious. At least it is warm in here, thanks to all of you I assume." Archpool meowed to the trio. "I can take it from here, why don't you guys go get some rest." It was obvious that it was not just a suggestion and more of an order, but none of them argued as they shuffled out of the den and back to their own. Archpool sighed once they left his den, the herbs he found were probably not the greatest and not what he was looking for but he was not going to be picky at this time of season. The only reason he had come back was because the clouds grew thicker and the wind was getting stronger and he did not want to get lost in the new territory. For now he left Cloudstar in the nest, at least he was warm, and he began to sort his first herbs. The alcove in his den was nice for storing herbs, only needing to be cleaned a little. It was dry and spacious, and was not easily accessed to the young.

Archpool had placed his herbs the way he wanted before he heard coughing from around the corner, it was Cloudstar. He rushed to the tom and looked him over, he was still unconscious. Archpool frowned, there wasn't much he could do to help the tom when he was not awake. "It is going to be a long night." he muttered to himself just before Cloudstar coughed again, this time it seemed worse and lasted longer. Archpool had seen the small pool of water in the den and grabbed some moss, he socked it into the water and took it to the leader, letting the drops fall near the tom's mouth. This seemed to help for some time and things quieted down.

Later that night Cloudstar had woken, he could not breath and he was panicking. He looked around and spotted Archpool coming to him, but it was to late. Cloudstar fell back in his nest with another coughing fit. The leader gasped for air before falling limp, losing his first life to greencough.

Half a moon has passed since Cloudstar lost one of his lives, he was pretty much grounded to the medicine den by Archpool until he was completely better. The white tom was slowly getting better each day but seemed to have a constant runny nose. Bouldershade frowned towards the medicine den, wondering when the leader would be better.

Fawnwillow had padded over to Bouldershade with a small fish "Would you like to share with me?" she meowed to the deputy in her usual quiet voice. It was quiet unlike her to offer, usually it was him that asked her so it was a nice surprise.

"Sure." Bouldershade purred before scooting over to share his warm spot as well. The ginger and grey molly sat next to him, she was still skinny but was getting better every day. The deputy couldn't help but be happy for her "You can eat first, as always." he meowed.

"Thank you." Fawnwillow meowed as she nuzzled the tom for his politeness then she bent down and took the first bite of the fish. Though the small lake the fish had come from was completely frozen over and no fish had been caught is some time, the cold had kept the fish fresh and it still tasted good. Bouldershade was a nice tom and Fawnwillow enjoyed his company and the silence that came with him. Once the fish had been eaten by the two Fawnwillow began to groom the tom, he happily let her.

After a while the two were just laying together in the sun, it was nice for a while then it started to snow. The sun slowly disappeared and it became chilly "We better go in the dens so we don't freeze our tails off. If you would like you can come in my den?" the tom asked as he gestured towards his small den. She nodded to him and they both escaped from the snow in his den.

It has been a whole moon since Cloudstar lost his first life, the leader was growing restless being tied up in camp and that made him grumpy. His nose was still runny so Archpool did not want him to take any chances and would not let him leave the camp. So for that past week the tom had been bossing out orders and snapping at any cat that seemed to be doing nothing. "Owldust! Why don't you and Fawnwillow go do something useful for once and hunt! Maybe this time you will catch something." he snapped at the two mollies when they were talking in camp. They immediately stopped their conversation and left camp without a word; Cloudstar scared them. Cloudstar already had Bouldershade go on a border patrol this morning and the white tom was growing impatient for any kind of news. Archpool even seemed to be no where in sight or in camp this morning and that made Cloudstar even more irritable.

Bouldershade was at the northern border this morning, Owldust had told him about an odd scent from across the border and wanted the deputy to check it out just to make sure. Once he was at the border he scented the air, it was the scent of many cats. Was it another clan? He didn't know and would let Cloudstar know later, for now the tom scented the border and went on to the east.

The apprentice's den is inside a bundle of bushes, letting light seep in in the morning. The queens and kits den is a small dip into the mountain, with plenty of pebbles for the kits to play with! The elders den is inside of two large slanted rocks that lean against another, and vines hang down from the top. The fresh-kill pile is in the middle of the camp.

There is a large circle of forest surrounding the camp, and by one of the borders there is a river. By the river there are also the "heat rocks," a place where in green-leaf they are warm and cozy to relax on.

The leader is a she-cat named Hawkstar. She is 45 moons old.

Spiderstar watched the the two cats as they continued their way back to camp. He sort of liked the calico, she had the same views as he did. She was harsh and proud and frankly he liked the sinister vibe she gave off. Her younger sister Swiftfoot was quiet, she wasn't too soft either which was a bonus as soft cats wouldn't make it in this clan.

"Briarhawk, I would like you to meet Echoflame and Swiftfoot." Briarhawk smiled at the two and greeted them. "Welcome the both of you, I will show you to the warrior dens." The she-cat stopped and turned to look at him, an impatient look on her face which was brave considering who she was addressing. Spiderstar raised an eyebrow at this and she gave a small laugh before turning and walking way.

Spiderstar headed towards the moonpool once again, the moonpool was located a bit far away but not desperately far, mostly a days walk and it was located under a small waterfall. He didn't mind the walk and found it actually a good head clearer.

Once at the moonpool he sat down and sighed lightly. "Starclan, I ask for a medicine cat." He then curled up and sleep took over him.

Mousestar awoke to find snow drifting into his den. He went out into the clearing and narrowed his eyes at the pure white expanse of snow, only the sky was dark. Cinderpaw and Nightglow were easily visible with their dark fur and the red fur on Appleblaze’s face was like a flame against the snow and the three were standing beside The Hope Stone chatting.

“The leaf suddenly flew to the side but I was too quick for it! If it had of been a mouse or vole it would be lying in the fresh kill pile right now!” Cinderpaw boasted. “Mousestar said he would take me hunting so I can try out my skills on a real piece of prey!”

“That’s not going to happen, Cinderpaw. It’s too cold and I don’t want anyone getting sick until we find someone who knows about herbs.” Mousestar explained guiltily.

“But you said…” She whimpered, making him feel even guiltier.

“I could take her?” Nightglow offered quietly. Mousestar dipped his head thankfully and turned to Cinderpaw.

“Happy?” he asked his apprentice who shrugged, reluctant to admit she was content, though her eyes gleamed with excitement. “I didn’t get much sleep, can you go on a border patrol without me, Appleblaze?”

“Of course Mousestar.” The russet and white warrior got up and went to leave camp but came bounding back within moments. “The river’s frozen!”

“Well there’s nothing we can do about that, just jump over it because we don’t want anyone to fall in. Oh, Cinderpaw? If you don’t catch anything then don’t worry, there’s less prey around ‘cos it’s getting noticeably colder. It won’t have anything to do with you.” Everyone shared wary glances but then filed past and prepared for their duties. Mousestar looked up at the big dark clouds looming over-head. “And be back soon!” He called as the first bolt of lightning lit the sky followed by the roaring sound of thunder. Appleblaze, Nightglow and Cinderpaw leapt across the frozen river and went their separate ways. Appleblaze heading to the west border and the other two going in the opposite direction towards Snake Stones.

Hawkstar shivered in the cold. She was sheltered inside of a hollow log, a makeshift den. All she could hear were the howls of the wind thrashing wildly outside of the log. She sighed. She knew she'd better get to the Moonpool to request for more cats, but she sure didn't feel like it. Atleast it was warm-ish in the log because of her body heat. It would be warmer with another cat in here. She thought to herself. Hawkstar stood up, and stretched her legs. She padded over to the edge of the log and peeked out. It was worse than she'd thought. A high wind blew at her face, as well as snow. She shut her eyes, and ducked her head back in.Now it seems much more cozy in this log. Hawkstar shook her head. I have to get to the Moonpool! She gained her strength, and ran outside. The snow pushed against her pelt, but she did her best to ignore it. She half-opened her eyes, and ran heavily to the Moonpool. Her long fur slowed her down, though. Fox dung! Eventually she made it to the glassy water. It wasn't frozen, surprisingly. She spoke up to the stars, "StarClan, I ask for a wish. During these times of snow and leaf-bare, cats will get very sick very quickly. I would need a medicine cat to help my Clanmates, to heal and take care of them. I will need a medicine cat to guide me through troubles, so I am requesting for one." She paused, and then added, "Thank you." The light brown she-cat laid her head by the water, and took a icy sip. She closed her eyes, and dozed off.

EmberClan hunts by jumping up high in the trees, and fishing by the river. They leap up onto the branches to catch birds and squirrel, and hook varieties of fish out of the river. Sometimes, they will catch a mouse or shrew on the ground by cornering it with the help of Clanmates.

Smokestar padded to the center of camp, halfway in the caves opening, and half in the clearing "Let all those old enough to Guard the Land-Bridge gather here for a clan meeting." Once everyone was gathered, Smokestar continued "As you all know, Ashenclan has been growing at a rather steady rate. Which is why it is time to begin the Guard Watch duty. Leopardsun, Tinyclaw, you two will take first Watch, and will be relieved after two moons" the two nodded "I am going to the moonpool to ask for an apprentice, you two come with me, and I will show you to your station" the three left camp, and a while later, Barknut followed to go herb hunting. New warrior Smokescreen, which had actually been his original name, turned to Earthpetal, who was expecting, but not due for another two moons "Think you could show me around the island?" he asked hopefully. The queen nodded, and rose to her paws "We'll be back shortly Dawnfire"
