Greed and power is the only reason we can walk, that's what she told me, I believe. Though, there must be some fault in their profound and almighty statement. 'Cause what if a cat had no legs? Would they have no greed nor power left in 'em?

forty-twoGold greedy eyes were the only thing that the small tom, Clair had seen the last couple of nights. Junipereyes, his mentor and mother figure, told him that gold represented power and leadership. Though the tom wouldn't believe her, all he saw was a hunger for something unknown in the dreams he had, and it wasn't for anything good. The ocean-eyed tom scowled and kept moving along the towering trees. He was tired from both his restless sleep and constant traveling. Although he was never bored of travel, it was something he adored, but that didn't mean it made him doze off from the non-stop walking.
forty-two"What's wrong, paidi mou?"
forty-two"Den Be-razei."
forty-twoJunipereyes smiled and turned her head to her son. In time her smile faded into a smirk and she nodded. "Don't you wish to know where we are going?" she asked softly. In return, Clair shook his head and huffed. "Anything you show me never ceases to amaze me."
forty-two"Good answer," the she-cat chuckled. They both continued walking with Junipereyes in the lead and Clair not too far behind.
forty-twoClair was clumsy with both his words and actions, only Junipereyes had the power to help him. They were mother and son without blood. The cunning she-cat had once said that the great three goddesses, Moirai must have put them together due to the fact that both had suffered far too long, leaving them with too much bad that they would die without a little good.
forty-two"We've arrived."
forty-twoClair hummed, "and what might this be?" He hopped down a rock ledge to a field of flowers. "Marigold." He shook his head and continued his path to the flowers, careful not to step on one of them. "How can they grow in such dark light? And no amount of water must hit them..." he murmured quietly. The marigolds all glowed with a gold color, though the tom could tell each flower had its own tint. Junipereyes followed him intently. "They are the former sages of
Vagaryclan, all in which have fallen," she said. Clair's heart thumped, he turned around but felt his sight starting to drift. He could no longer see Junipereyes anymore, just a quiet darkness.
forty-two"And who might you be?" a young looking she-cat asked.
forty-two"I could ask the same for you."
forty-two"Bold―I'm Cempasuchil, the ambassador to the grounds you walk upon."
forty-two"Where am I?"
forty-two"The Celestial Grounds, or the Plains of the Dead."
forty-two"Have I died?"
forty-two"Not yet," she giggled. Cempasuchil turned around and started to walk away.
Come back! Although it was just his voice in his own head, was it always like this? As a result, this made him run to her, she didn't seem to hear him. Clair ran until he got to the edge of a cliff. Before he could turn around he was pushed off by an unknown force that resembled something he had once felt before. He closed his eyes and tried to scream, waiting for the impact that was before him.
forty-twoDandelions. He was in a field of dandelions. And in front of him was a young tom crying, he looked up at Clair and gave him a blank look. Gold eyes and black velvet fur, but this wasn't the one from his dreams. This one was hungry for freedom, and the overwhelming pressure of it wanted to make Clair cry as well, but he couldn't find himself the power to.
forty-two"What a silly name, how 'bout we pluck a new one for you?"
forty-twoIt was Cempasuchil. She looked at Clair warmly and brushed her tail against his back. "Cry if you want," the starry she-cat suggested. Clair found himself laying down because of his body giving out due to his own exhaustion. He huffed and looked up at the deity. "I like my name," he sobbed. Cempasuchil tilted her head and giggled as she did before. She shifted her head now to look at an empty space. "We can make an exception," she replied to his empty statement.
forty-two"Well then Clair, bring my
Vagaryclan back to the living, will you?"
forty-two"I'm no leader."
forty-two"Did I say you were? I believe I included that you can be the savior of this clan, doesn't mean you are any leader. You are my divine, and the sage of
Vagaryclan will assist you."
forty-two"And who might that be?"
forty-twoGold greedy eyes followed Clair's breath at the moment. Cempasuchil nodded solemnly and faded into the stars that Clair had not noticed before.

Also, we were discussing it on CS discord, and as the mother would need to eat more to feed the kit and still be healthy, kits count for food too. If you don't feed your kits for one more post, one may have to die
