Lunar Sharks is tentatively looking for a small number of staff! We are opening applications for moderators, full-time and guest artists!

There is not currently a closing date for these applications (we will announce a couple days to a week before closing them) nor do we have a clear number of staff we are taking on board (that will be up to our discretion). Please make sure to read the rules properly before applying!

RULES
- you must be an adult
- you must be in the discord server
- you may modify the form, but you must fill out all in the information in the form
- you must have an archive

MODERATOR APPLICATIONS

OPEN

Roles:
- moderating the server
- assisting in discord responsibilities
(answering questions regarding the UMA, checking introductions, moderating and redirecting chats)

- (in the future) helping with litters and expedition rolls

Benefits:
- 500 moonshards per month (if you are active during the month)
- 1 free custom from an artist on the month of your birthday

In the future there will be benefits for rolling expeditions but at the moment I will continue to handle them

ARTIST APPLICATIONS

Roles
(must do 1 of these a month for full-time artists - 1 every two months for guest artists):
- create litters (standards or your own lines)
- create sharks for expeditions (using the expedition lines)
- open custom slots
- interact with discord server through giveaways/giveaway games (+ create sharks for them)
- assist with future events
- create items for expeditions/shops/giveaways

Benefits (if you are active during the month):
- 500 moonshards per month
- 1 self custom per month (that follows the trading cooldown of other customs - 1 month)
- 1 free custom on the month of your birthday from another artist
- x10 of any item created (+ 10 to use in giveaways)

Extra Information:
- for your application, we would love to see at least (but not limited to) 2 standards, 1 custom and a litter/line concept
- we are heavily incentivised by artists who are also interested in making items!! please feel free to show off any item design

- you must be able to save files in PSD format to apply
- do not use any pre-existing characters/OCs for your application as you will not be able to keep them
- do not create copyrighted sharks for your application
- do not remove the signature, claim the base as your own, or use it to create sharks for yourself beyond this application

NOTE: If you just want to be an item artist feel free to apply as one! Instead of example sharks, we would love to see at least (but not limited to) 1 clothing item, 1 mouthheld item, 1 body item and one expedition item (trinket or otherwise, complete creative freedom!)

Do you have any experience being a UMA moderator?
I am a mod for Moosems, though I have had experience as a NonUMA Discord mod too!

Why do you want to be a moderator for Lunar Sharks?
I absolutely adore the UMA community and I'd love to help out! I have nothing but love for Lunar Sharks and I hope to remain in this community for as long as I humanly can!

Someone asks a question in the questions channel. What do you do?
Provide a correct and detailed answer if I know, ask for them to clarify if I do not understand the question, and ask in a staff chat if I don't know, to be able to answer correctly in the future!

People are talking in the wrong channel. What do you do?
Gently shoo them to the appropriate channel for said conversation! If it's between two people I'd also consider sending them to DMs if that is the proper place for said conversation!

Two members are arguing. What do you do?
Do my best to diffuse the situation! Depending on the severity of the argument, I'd possibly talk to them separately in DMs to figure out what I can do to help avoid further conflict on that issue!

A member is harassing another for their sharks. What do you do?
Give a small but firm warning to the person harassing the other, explaining why this behavior is not ok. If it continues after that, I would put them in time out to temporarily stop the harassment and contact a higher-up to find the best course of action

Are you comfortable being in charge when no one else is online?
Totally! I am a student but I can keep an eye on discord throughout the day for the most part! I wake up at around 8 am est, and go to bed at around 2 am est, but it does fluctuate depending on what I have going on!

Do you have any experience being a UMA moderator?
Yes! I owned Aeros for a short period, and am currently an admin and artist in there! I am also currently a mod for Meesks. Along with that, I have admin/modding experience in discord servers(gaming related) with 500+ members. I, also, helped with Wermz HallowRealm 2023 rolls last year for a few of the booths.
Why do you want to be a moderator for Lunar Sharks?
I am a stay-at-home mom to my baby girl so I have plenty of freetime, and usually check discord on my phone a couple times an hour. In my free time, I like to help out with things I enjoy and I enjoy sharks and these guys are such cute sharks !! Also everyone in the discord has been so kind since I joined, I just want to help spread some positivity around!

If I know the answer, I will answer kindly and quickly. If I do not know the answer, and cannot find it in staff chat, I will ask in staff chat the answer to the question so I can respond properly.
People are talking in the wrong channel. What do you do?
Kindly direct them to the proper channel, including a link to the proper channel to speak in.
Two members are arguing. What do you do?
Shut it down. I will tell them in chat that this is not the place to act like that, and that we have to follow the rules of the server. I would then DM both of them with a further explanation as to why we cannot allow that, and find out if their issue is something that needs to be brought to staff for resolution.
A member is harassing another for their sharks. What do you do?
This depends if it is happening in chat or in DMS, and depends on how bad the harassment is. If in server, I would politely redirect them to go re-read the rules and know that begging is not allowed in the server. If this is a dm between the two members, I would DM the person and tell them that begging is not what we do in here and that it is against the rules. If they do not stop begging, then I would talk with staff and tell them we may need to give a strike.
Are you comfortable being in charge when no one else is online?
Very comfortable. I am usually online between 10/11 AM to around 1/2 AM EST.

nope, but I have been accepted as an artist for another UMA, but they aren’t active unfortunately.
Why do you want to be an artist for Lunar Sharks?
I really love unique species and being apart of a community! I am also finding my passion again doing digital art.
I have only recently gotten into UMA’s and I am absolutely loving getting involved.
I also really love the idea of watching a species come to life!
