Promt Answer: Pumpkins, they have many reasons they're loved. One of the main reasons within my family that they're loved it because we always have a pumpkin gut war. Once our pumpkins are cleared out, we start throwing the guts at each other, and it's overall fun. My dad always carves his pumpkin with an electric drill, and I always end up cutting myself at least once. Another reason is pumpkin cannons. It's really fun to watch them go flying, and I've always loved the siren that starts before the cannons go off, and the smell of the cannons when they've fired.

Pumpkins... are they a vegetable? A fruit? Some odd combination thereof? Who cares. They're just big... orange... things, and Rytter has never had a use for them one way or another. See, they don't taste terrible, but they don't taste great (It depends on how they're cooked), he's never carved one, he's never picked one. He never saw the appeal in smashing them. Pumpkins are just something that... come with Halloween. Rytter is perfectly fine with considering them nothing more than glorified decorations and moving on with his life.

Even though Sharla has found herself as the guide of the pumpkin pact she actually aren't too much of a fan of pumpkins as a food item. Finding the taste of it to just simply be an odd one that she can't really get behind. However one thing she does like about pumpkins are their colour and the tradition to carve them even though she has realized that technically this could be something done to essentially any other sturdier food item. But as pumpkins was the first she was introduced in this fashion and the fact that it gives a pretty decently sized item to work with she has mostly kept to pumpkins for her interest in the art of carving of lanterns even though she has definitely tried to do the same with other food items with varying results.

Promt Answer: Truffle tried making a fresh pumpkin pie from scratch but it tasted horrible! He couldn't understand why, the pumpkin had nothing wrong with it, so why didn't it taste as good as the canned stuff? Well he did a little research into it and found out those pumpkin pie filling cans don't actually have the traditional pumpkins in them! They have a much tastier but uglier looking squash in them instead. But nobody wants squash pie so they sell it as pumpkin. So now Truffle just bakes fresh squash pies and leaves the pumpkins for carving and roasting seeds!
