So, I found these little fat dragons I sketched up a while back and I'm trying to decide if I want to make them into little signature-sized adoptables(or keep them this size, idk, that's what you're here for). Along with normal sized versions for other uses.
They wouldn't be fcfs probably, but also wouldn't require extensive applications I think???? I dunno, I'm torn. I don't have a lot of time but I also miss playing on the adoptable scene.
Tiny bit of info about them as a species:
"Snap Dragons are tiny, chunky, flightless dragons that spend most of their time sleeping. Much like a venus fly trap, they sleep with their mouths open. Their sweet, sugary saliva attracts insects and sometimes small birds and mammals. Once the unfortunate prey steps inside their open mouth, their jaw snaps shut and the prey is often swallowed whole.
When they are awake, they move with the sole purpose of finding a better place to 'hunt'. When walking, their movement and stature is much like a bulldog. They are pretty lazy but can move pretty fast(in an uncoordinated, comical sort of way) to escape threats.
Their breeding season rolls around once a year, during this time they slim down significantly as they move about for a two month period, seeking a mate and therefore not staying in one spot long enough to eat.
Once bred, the males return to their regular schedules while the females seek a nesting site. They build a nest, lay several eggs, and then they return to their lives as well.
The eggs hatch in mid-summer, usually about three months after they're laid, and the hatchlings immediately set out in search of a place to 'hunt'.
These dragons are highly sought after by collectors who enjoy keeping them for their calm, friendly(coughlazycough) demeanor. As long as they are kept well fed and provided a safe place to sleep-eat, they will stick around and won't leave in search of better 'hunting'. If they really like their keeper, they can even be allowed to leave during the breeding season as they'll return on their own with no more prompting than promises of continued bounty with minimal effort on their part."
Let me know what you think, post here, mark the poll, give me feedback. If I've got enough interest I'll start actually drafting things and coming up with what I can to make the species successful. I just don't want to waste my time(considering I've got a billion other things to do already) if there's no real interest in adopting my chunky bubs.
