Zest's biggest joy in life is being a gourmand, so of course his first and foremost way of enjoying the festivities is checking out the food on offer! After sampling a variety of different sweets, he goes to walk off his meal while taking in all the pretty decor and floral arrangements scattered around the plaza. He's not usually the type to take part in competitive events, but the thrill of the egg hunt is too good to resist, so he just has to join in! Being his very laid back self, he takes his time and goes at his own pace, just enjoying the excitement around him more than finding the eggs themselves. But he's more than happy to help anyone who'd like a second pair of eyes to help them look!

Grape Candy loves eggs. That's how she got her friend after all! But she really doesn't get why everyone is obsessed with chicken eggs. Sure, they're perfectly fine, she says to Sea Slug, but aren't they boring? What about shark eggs? Or even butterfly eggs? Some of them even look like urchin tests! They're fun, she asserts to her companion. They look, frankly, dubious. It's decided, thinks Grape Candy, puffing her cheeks petulantly. She'll make cool chocolate eggs herself, show them the wonders of eggs! She knows next to nothing about baking, but surely nothing can go wrong.

Alethia had gone her whole life without participating in an easter egg hunt. Somehow she'd always been tied up at just the wrong time and missed out! There were kitchen mishaps, last-minute fawn-sittings, unexpected phonecalls, sprained ankles and so, so many more mishaps. For a long time, Alethia hadn't noticed the pattern, but once she did, each year became a personal challenge to herself to GO EGG HUNTING OR ELSE. And this year she was as determined as ever. She'd double-checked the entire house for problems, turned off her phone and headed straight to the plaza well before egg hunting time--only to be shooed away lest she seem where the eggs were being hidden!

Still, being shooed was better than disqualified, and she quickly scampered away to avoid that fate. Finally, it was time, and she was right next to the plaza, with Dido-- DIDO! Alethia had somehow left her faithful companion home! Just as she's ready to turn and head back, resigned to missing half the event, a yellowish blur of foxy fur zips past her and Alethia stares in astoundment as Dido half-flies, half-runs onto the plaza. Shaking off the surprise, Alethia hurtles after her as the super-sniffer fox reveals egg after egg, her flashing eyes fixed on the prize. Wow. Who knew this little furball was so competitive? Alethia can't help but laugh so much it hurts as she watches the sincere ferocity her companion displays in the face of colorful eggs and cute bunny decorations. Thank goodness they didn't miss it this year!
