- xxxxxxxxas his villain name might suggest, shion is a rather melodramatic person, his entire persona based upon being over-exaggerated and dramatic, appealing to the emotions of those around him. he lives and strives off of the attention of others, the type of attention not really being an issue. whether someone loved him or hated him, sent him hate mail or love letters, he enjoyed the sentiment either way. it all meant that they had thought about him, and if there was anything enjoyable to shion, it was the idea that people thought about him, plagued their thought processes with his pseudo presence, which he was fairly certain was a plague to most anyhow, considering the way he actually behaved around other people. the idea that people cared enough to harbor him in his thoughts is a comforting concept, if one he uses as a way of self reassurance. the blind boy has a sharp tongue full of pseudo-cynicism, his words typically bitter and cold with a light, amusing twist. he loves to toy around and joke with people, playing with their buttons and aiming to suck the happiness out of them and allow anger and distaste to fester and boil, the spilling point being the highlight of the game. he's a naturally bitter person, holding the world and the people in it in negative thoughts. he regards the world as cold and harsh, favoring the strong and killing the weak without a second thought, and he sees humanity the same way, noting how people hold the physically strong, the intelligent, the beautiful, the healthy, high on pedestals, whereas the weak, the stupid, the ugly, the sick, are all considered below them in status. the general population wouldn't hesitate to crush them beneath their feet, and he had experienced this first hand, being blind. when he had sight, he didn't think much of it, but now as one with a disability that renders him useless in most aspects and requires him to rely on other people for help, he truly sees (or rather, doesn't anymore) the inequality and suffering, which might seem self-centered, seeing as it took something bad to happen to him for him to understand, and he wouldn't argue against that, because it is, because humanity is self-centered and ignorant. this all has left him with a rather resentful disposition. he already was messed up in a sadistic sort of way, but it was merely out of play and ignorance, though his new spiteful behaviors had led for him to grow a backing for his sociopathic ways, now excusing his behaviors as something these people deserved. they didn't deserve to live, after all. really, humanity deserved to be wiped out, all traces destroyed and removed from the face of the earth. it was only fair that he did his part to move towards that goal, no? and thus, he places very little value on his own life, figuring that if he is weak enough to die, then he deserves every moment of it.
though, what else doesn't come as a surprise is how different he acts when around his twin, noriko. it's almost like he becomes a completely different person, his aloof air dissipating, replaced by a silly, giggling, light-hearted goofball who would do anything to make his sibling happy, though that doesn't mean he doesn't tease her to near-death like he does with the rest of the population, perhaps even maybe more so, with softer, more caring tones, and gentler expressions. he completely relaxes around her, regarding her as the only person he can truly trust. she is blind too, after all, and understands what that kind of pain is like, not to mention they've literally spent nearly every day of their seventeen year lives together, or at least near each other in some way. shion is a lot more truthful with her, for the most part expressing his true feelings with her and only her, trusting her with his weak side and the shatterings of his outer shell, knowing that despite her sharp tongue and suffocating bluntness, she will help him pick himself back up, just like how he does for her.
along the same note, shion is a self-proclaimed memelord who has a big presence on the internet, his social medias ranging from hundred thousands to millions of followers, depending on his content, as he has multiple accounts for each different social media type so that he can post different kinds of content. his biggest and most loyal following comes from his presence on the deep web, where he is well known for showcasing himself using his quirk on his victims, giving people tips and tricks on the art of murder, and the occasional music video, where he writes songs and uses the components of his victims' suffering (such as screaming or crying) to build beautiful melodic masterpieces. one of his more popular legal social medias is dedicated to his singing, where he records himself covering songs, or singing those he writes himself, seeing as he has a personal love for music and writing lyrical components. like his twin, he grew up with a love for music, though while she enjoys the more classical and instrument side of things, he takes an interest with more modern pop and vocal stuff. the founding of his quirk only fueled his love for singing, as he is sure was similar with noriko and her quirk.

- xxxxxxxxhypnotic voice is a quirk that allows the user to put individuals into a hypnotic state when they hear the user singing. naturally, this quirk gifts the user the ability to sing, appearing as a natural born skill before the quirk properly manifests in childhood. this particular strain of hypnotic voice manifested rather late in shion, almost giving the illusion that he was quirkless, but this was because it needed more time to build its passive traits into him, leading to frequent sore throats and throat infections in childhood, the quirk taking its toll on him even before manifesting properly.
when in the hypnotic state, the user is able to telepathically communicate with their victims and command them to do whatever they desire, no matter the consequences. this extends to the whole range of bodily manipulation and works sort of like a charm spell, where as long as the quirk is in effect, they are forced to do and behave in whatever way they were told to, no matter the inner struggle they may be having. by extension, shion can manipulate and control his victims emotions using his quirk as well, should he choose to target that specific part of their brain, rather than the section that controls bodily autonomy. taking that route, he can choose to make people regard him as an old friend, or to hold sympathy for him, or perhaps hate, should he request that from them. provided that they can hear him, he can make them feel however he wants to, though by using that quality of his quirk, he can't directly control their actions, leaving them to behave how they naturally would when naturally feeling these emotions. he can't both manipulate a persons emotions and strip them of their bodily autonomy at the same time without serious health repercussions to himself, so he tends to avoid it.
in order for hypnotic voice to activate, there are be a few conditions that must be met. first, the victims have to be able to hear the user sing. second, the user has to have a command ready upon activation. third, the user needs to decide on a duration in which the quirk lasts. typically, shion is only able to control his victims for as long as he sings, meaning that when he stops, the effect of his quirk stops. he is technically able to keep his quirk activated on his victims while pausing his singing, but this works much like a concentration spell and sufficiently drains him of energy. doing this has led him to pass out in the past, so he chooses to forgo this and only use that feature of his quirk when absolutely necessary.
there is very little one can do to prevent being overtaken by hypnotic voice, save being deaf. once you hear his singing tunes, even the faintest of them, you are put under his spell, and you cannot leave until he stops singing, or until the time limit is up. of course, one way to avoid being taken is simply to have him exclude the person from the attack, but that would require for him to be aware of the persons presence, and want them to be omitted from the effects of his quirk. if those two requirements are not met, they will be taken over anyways, and forced to do what he says. while he has been trained for this and has gotten rather good at it, singing for too long and for too loud can destroy his voice and vocal cords. if he goes over his limit, he will lose his voice for an undetermined amount of time. if it's really aggressive, there's a chance he can damage his vocal cords and slowly lose his ability to use his quirk.

- xxxxxxxxhowever, much like noriko, shion doesn't have much for memory of his past either. it's not like he has ever put effort into thinking about it, but he does know what thing: noriko was always there. every memory he has, has her either with him or at the spotlight, like when they would shoplift and break and enter for fun or when they discovered their quirks. even those memories are blurry, but the biggest defining feature is that noriko was there. shion discovered his quirk after noriko, being a little late on the timeline. it was when they were mugging someone, and shion was trying to convince the person to hand over their stuff so they wouldn't have to kill them. he had spoken in a sing-songy voice, and once his question had been asked, the person was put under his spell, doing as he said. he doesn't remember if they killed them anyways or not, as all he remembers is the excitement he shared with his twin sister.
because of their aptitude for getting into trouble, shion and noriko were often targeted by heroes, which eventually led to both of them losing their sight. shion was heavily into the internet and was building his own social media presence, so he spiraled downwards pretty badly and quickly for awhile afterwards. the only things that kept him alive was noriko and their shared love for music. shion never learned how to use sound vibrations to help him get his way around like his sibling has. he still clings on to the idea that he can still "see", i.e. the faint shadows that he can still detect, and stubbornly uses that to get around, absolutely refusing help of any kind (though, after enough tripping and bumping into things, he eventually comes around, though reluctantly). he takes pride in his social media presence, having modified all his electronics to use voice over, meaning the electronic will speak out loud and tell him what the text says, give photo descriptions, or let him know what his finger is touching/what his mouse is hovering over.

- xxxxxxxxface claim is otosaka shunsuke. shion is on the short side of those assigned male at birth, with a curvier body and softer, more feminine features, making him appear rather androgynous. he keeps his hair short, the strands colored a soft grey-lavender, the purple really reflecting off in the light, but its often shiny and greasy, as he's unable to properly care for himself like an almost functioning adult should. his eyes are pale, a silver-lavender, similar to his hair color but paler, and more translucent. they are blind, being able to vaguely see shadows and shifts of light but not much else. there's some aggressive scarring on and around his eyes, remnants of the wounds he had taken that resulted in his blindness. he often paints his nails, though his nails are stubby and jagged from him chewing on them, and his finger tips scarred from the chewing as well. shion is an unkempt human being with poor personal hygiene, often dirty and gross looking, very similar to how he behaves.

✓✓ noriko umesaki ✓✓: his favorite person! shion loves nori-nori with all of his heart, and while he may show it in unconventional ways, like teasing her, making her listen to his crappy meme music, and otherwise acting like a jerk, he truly does love her and wishes the best for her. he'd give his life to protect hers.
• ryuunosuke suzukaze •: shion knows that his odd nature puts ryuu off, and that's okay! it doesn't bother him that he makes them uncomfortable. so long as they don't try to confront him or try to get him to change, he respects that the two of them are different. though, he wishes that they could meme together. he feels like they'd be the kind of person to like memes.
✓ ringo kobayashi ✓: one of the few people he actually enjoys the company of besides his sibling. he assumes that ringo doesn't actually hold any positive feelings for him, and that he's only there to get what he wants from him, including the occasional affair, but he's not too bothered by it. he gets what he wants out of him too, and really, that's all he can ask for.

- xxxxxxxxkaito is unlike one would expect from a villain. he's a gentle and kind soul, always willing to offer himself up to help someone in need, finding mild joy in seeing the smiles on other peoples faces, especially those younger and weaker than him. he sort of behaves like a herd dog when placed with a group of people, aiming to keep an eye on and guide everyone, keeping them together so no one gets lost. typically, he is a calm and collected individual, not much bothering him by way of, well, anything. kaito doesn't fear much, so threats don't work on him, and the figment of death themself could loom over him and he'd give them his signature calm, kind smile, apathetic to it all. in fact, that could describe his entire demeanor rather well. he is a very apathetic person, not much triggering passionate emotions within him or motivating him to feel much of any emotion. of course, he's still capable of emotions, just perhaps not in the same way most people feel them, and definitely not in the way most people express them. it's almost as if he feels emotions through a rubber glove, dulled, a layer of latex between him and the section of his brain that processes them, so while he perhaps may feel happy or joyous about a situation, it would only be a partial segment of what he should be feeling, what other people in his shoes would feel. by extension, that means that he doesn't get angry very easily, the most he's ever been is mildly irritated, but even then it's so minor that it'd be hard for anyone to truly be able to call it 'anger'. there are a few things in life that truly make him feel emotions, but they are few and far between, if a bit unconventional. one thing he truly enjoys is battle. it's almost as if he truly comes alive when he gets to fight someone and use his quirk on them. he considers fighting to be like dancing, an art that he has skilled over years of training, and does any and everything he can for a chance to show his prowess off, a certain pleasant thrill acting like a rejuvenating drug whenever he gets the chance to fight. another thing he enjoys is putting himself in danger. kaito suffers from congenital analgesia, meaning he cannot physically feel pain for the most part. sometimes, it very similar to how he experiences emotions, as if there was a layer of latex over his skin and organs and the pain is almost a numb sort of feeling, but for the most part, he feels next to nothing. so, knowing this, he gets a certain thrill when he partakes in stupidly dangerous activities, such as parkour done many stories high, climbing buildings and jumping off to see if he can land in a near-impossible safe zone, or setting gasoline stations on fire and lingering way too close so that he'll be impacted by the explosion. it makes his heart race, so it gives the illusion that he can feel something, which really, is all he can ask for. though, one thing that kaito feels rather well is bloodlust. the intense desire to draw blood and to kill. while it isn't triggered by strong emotions like it would in a normal person, rather, it is triggered by actions he thinks is deserving of it, such as someone wronging him [i.e. someone he works with outing him to the authorities] or doing unsavory things to someone he cares about [if someone ever reaches that point, however, it's not easy to gain his affection past a mild approval sort of feeling]. it also just can be triggered randomly. it's not rare for him to be perusing the public, perhaps at the mall, and his eyes run across someones face and he suddenly feels the intense desire to rip the heart out of their chest. typically it's nothing personal or discriminatory, the person just happening to catch his eye, which is unfortunate for them, but usually leaves a nice, dull, satisfactory feeling in his chest when the deed is done.
kaito is actually a rather insecure person. he doesn't necessarily feel bad about himself, as he's not really capable of feeling bad in a traditional sense, but he does understand that he is different, and that makes him sort of feel inadequet, though again its a very dull sense of inadequacy, so it's nothing strong as compared to a person with a normal range of emotions, but to him, it's pretty strong in comparison to the stuff he normal feels, which again, is next to nothing. he tends to deflect any compliments directed at him, so he comes off as meek and humble, though he would describe it as more thinking that other people deserved them more, people who could actually use them to boost confidence, instead of himself, who feels very little or nothing. he is exceptionally observant and circumspect of his surroundings and the situations that develop around him. while not shy, he is more of a reserved person, not talking a lot and typically spending his time thinking, or observing his surroundings or listening in on conversations when you think he isn't paying attention.
♡ quirk description ♡
- xxxxxxxxashes to ashes is a quirk where the user can disintegrate any material they touch and turn it into ash. this quirk was born as a cross between a touch-based pyrokinesis quirk and a touch-based disintegration quirk, leaving the offspring to obtain a cross between the two. however, kaito was not the offspring that obtained this quirk. ashes to ashes was stolen from someone who was victim to all for one, who placed it into the hands [literally] of kaito when he showed promise.
when all five fingers and palm touch an object, the hand will heat up to an unbearable, unnatural temperature, setting flammable materials on fire and cremating whatever is being touched. once the object is touched, unless someone has a reversing quirk, the effect cannot be reversed, and the material touched by the heat of his hand will slowly crumble into ash, only stopping once either the entire object had disintegrated, or as far as the heat had penetrated. naturally, the longer he touches something, the faster it will disintegrate, and the more the effect will spread to the rest of the object. from a combination of training among his fellow villains and training at ua to be a hero, kaito has almost near-mastered his quirk [its not quite mastered, but he's pretty close] and holds the ability to use the pyrokinetic part of his quirk more to his benefit, extending the heat from his hands towards his target and being able to turn whatever he's targeting into ash without even physically touching them. this requires a lot more energy, however, so he tends to save it for emergencies. with it, he has the power of burning up and disintegrating an object entirely from the inside, making it quite deadly if he were to use it at full power on a person.
hand to hand combat is kaito's specialty. not only does ashes to ashes rely on it, it being a quirk highly dependent on the user being able to get close and personal with their target, but he has been specially trained in it as well, being incredibly strong just out of raw human power alone. he is especially good with knives, using them to get up close and personal with the illusion that he doesn't have a battle-orientated quirk, or, if the knife is of a special kind of metal that wont melt from the heat, he can use his quirk to heat up the blade, turning it into a burning cauterizing weapon. kaito is fast and nimble, his desterity not perfect but quite above average, rivaling some of the best pro heroes, and he is not only highly intelligent, but his skill in not only controlling and using his quirk, but pure fighting in general, is impeccable, a true mark of someone in ua's big three. his body is also immune to his own quirk, with his hands specifically being immune to other similar disintegration quirks.
kaito has very few noticeable weaknesses, though one would be that he is pretty much worthless when forced to fight at a distance, unless he gets his hand on a gun or other similar ranged weapon, but even then he is not at his full power like he would when fighting melee. when not given a ranged weapon, he is useless at a distance unless he can catch up to his opponent [which isn't that hard, considering his speed and his critical thinking]. he also finds it rather difficult to work with teammates, typically knocking them out of the way when fighting, or getting in their way himself, or even almost using his quirk on them on accident from mistaking them for an enemy, making the battlefield a true minefield to him and whoever he works with. surprisingly, he is rather weak to heat. his hands make his body super warm in comparison to 'normal' people, so he is naturally rather good in cold climates, but when exposed with ambient heat that rises above 32c, he quickly begins to overheat, and heat exhaustion will set in, and eventually heat stroke if left untreated.

- xxxxxxxxkaito grew up fairly normal, if you don't account for the fact that his mother wasn't the best. she tried, she really did, she just wasn't cut out for raising a child, and a quirkless one at that. he got picked on daily, and she would ignore him when he went to her for comfort or safety, unable to be positive for the child she loved but could not envision a future with. she ended up projecting her own fears and insecurities onto him, eventually leading kaito to run away. the authorities never found him, and he ended up being listed as legally dead after a long few years. though, in actuality, kaito didn't die, rather was found by all for one and a very early idea of the league of villains, who decided to train him as a weapon for his desires, granting him a quirk through his own quirk [not until he was strong enough, though]. this is where he spent his new life, physically training to be strong without a quirk, so that when he was given one, not only would his body not retaliate, but so he could use it to it's max potential without having to catch up on the years he spent without it.
kaito [who took on a new name at this point] enrolled in ua and made it to the first hero course, where he did reconnaissance, observing the teachers, the heros-in-training, and otherwise gathering information for all for one and the league, while also getting more training on how to use his quirk to its best potential. this landed kaito as a current third year in the big three and an inspiration to the younger heros-in-training. he helps train them, honest about his advice, using these opportunities to learn about their quirks and techniques for future use, knowing one day, he will have to give up his post and fight them.

- xxxxxxxxkaito wasn't really gifted with the gene for height, being rather short. he has pale blue hair that ends just a bit past his shoulders in terms of length, though he typically keeps it all pinned up against his head in a pigtail-like fashion to give the appearance of short fluffy hair. he is very boyish in appearance, though he doesn't quite look like a child like most people like him do. his eyes are wide and colors a similar, brighter shade of blue like his hair, though they turn a deep magenta when his quirk is in effect, going from soft and indifferent to wild and killer in a matter of seconds. his body is small and lithe, though if someone were to touch him on the arm or shoulder, they'd notice how well built he is, toned and muscular from his constant training. he tends to dress rather femininely, his fashion almost entirely consisting of harajuku and lolita styles, and his ua uniform being swapped between the girls and boys uniform daily to fit his daily moods. his pale skin is dotted with cute sun spots and pale scars, usually in the shape of knife nicks.
