sister anthea was born. her father raised the three girls
the rest himself and worked hard as a jewler. when the
selection came, she was the only eligible daughter of the
three to try for it. she was unhappy to think of becoming a
princess and leaving her family behind for so long but she
signed up knowing that is would bring in more money for the
family. after months at the selection, she was chosen, to her
surprise, and married the king. her family moved closer to the
palace. it took months for amelia to get pregnant with
the prince and was never able to have children afterwards,
having had three miscarriages after him. now she looks
at her son with pride but is excited to welcome a daughter
to her family.

When her father got fired she had to work overtime, even dropping out of her poor education for a year. Than her father past away when she was seventeen and her sister was nine. She became the guardian and managed to regain control of their life, completing her education without university and managing to secure a well-paying job. By the time she was eighteen her sister and her were considered a true part of caste six. She would do anything for her family. Then she got picked for the selection. She hoped, prayed, that maybe she could create a better life for her twelve year old sister and save up for her education.

@flame_writer - yes, this takes place far after the US has been destroyed and a new nation has risen. All the land is the same though and the provinces stretched all the way from Canada down to Central America. There are no more States, just provinces. There are technically 35 but I have cut it down to 10. Here is a map of it all: Map

The only provinces left open are Bankston, Carolina, Hudson, Lakedon, Panama, Waverly, Yukon, and Zuni.

Appearance: Kalum is a tall man with a wide chest, which he has a habit of keeping forward. His eyes are a brilliant blue and his hair is jet-black, although like with his father, it will most likely light to dark brown in his later years. He has a very deep voice and a noticable underbite, causing some of his bottom teeth to show when his mouth is closed. This does not affect his speech much.
Personality: Kalum is disinterested in the competetion ahead of him, finding it uncouth for ladies to challenge for the hand of a man. A proper man should challenge for a lady, after all. He is firm, calm, and rational. He is a very deep thinker, and prefers to observe than to speak. He walks with his chest out, his hands folded neatly behind his back, and his chin high. He prides himself in the level of elegance that he carries. He can be firm and aggressive, especially if he thinks someone or something is wasting his time. He has a sharp mind and an even sharper tongue, and can be known for his wit. If someone is doing something that annoys him, he will make sure that person knows. make a girl spoiled to perfection. well, she is, technically speaking.
but hazel's the type who passes an Eight in the streets and can't help

her manager said "a diva is good publicity". hazel has two sides-she
